At a time when petrol and diesel costs and interest in EVs is soaring, this significant moment that should be used to justify accelerating the EV the transition, not slowing it down as some keep arguing for. A huge opportunity for this Government.

Ask anyone what makes a place worth living in, and greenery will be near the top of the list. Yet 1 in 5 people lack a green or blue space within a 15-minute walk - falling hardest on urban areas where communities can least afford to lose the green lifeline BNG provides.
Quietly, behind the scenes, the ZEV mandate is ensuring that car manufacturers keep on supplying more, better, cheaper EVs. As a policy, it should be commended. In fact, by shielding the nation from foreign fossil-fuel price shocks, the Government should even consider strengthening the mandate.
ποΈ It's been a record month for electric vehicle sales - meaning that 83,000 drivers avoided the crazy fuel price hikes caused by the Iran war. Each new car increased the UK's energy security - and each one reduced the amount of money the nation has to pay out for imported fossil petrol and diesel.
