@shorebird.bsky.social after a crazy couple of months and a week with the sister in Fl., I returned W and Thurs went to the nursery to pick up the hummingbird plants. The usual and 2 of the bat face cuphea. Temps are too iffy, in the flat and yesterday 2:30pm, I was greeted-they are here!

it may be delayed, but this little White Throated Sparrow stood in the morning sun on top of its temporary iglooshrub along the edge. The snow started to drop off and exposed part of the shrub!

Cardinals, White Throated Sparrows, Juncos, Sparrows, House Finches, and this week including today Yellow-Rumped Warblers. The Blue Jays weren't around today. The Red Winged Blackbirds and their Grackle friends were around, but minimal, the storm (ice) 2wks ago there were dozens of each.

the bushes topped with a branch made a Fred Flintstone Bedrock style igloo hotel for the Juncos..and out front. It will be a process. I played deck today!🤣

🤣.. I am not a fan..a dusting, a couple of inches..that is it!

20 inches of fun, brief power loss 3x, trees are all in tact shrubs are hurting with the weight. I hope they don't snap under pressure. I am seriously considering deck removal..it is the entire length of the house. The driveway is easier to clear!

Thanks..as long as the trees and power stay in tact, the snow can be 3ft.. the warmer temps after will help make it a blip blizzard. I hope!🤣

you too! So over it.. the good thing is that the temps will rise after and melt will be quick. I won't bother with snow removal.😊 The areas had bird flu victims this past week, I hope minimal and it is over.

The snow and ice was minimal on the 22nd and this female Belted Kingfisher caught a big one. Hopefully, she is feasting right now in prep for the expected "blizzard." Stay safe! #BirdOfTheDay #BirdsInTheirElement
