Why hasn’t the investment world responded more decisively?
The climate crisis isn’t just an environmental threat. It’s a growing danger to global economic stability—and to the long-term investments that millions of people depend on for their futures.

Sorry to see my former employer's resources and website unavailable to rural communities.
My former employer, a HRSA grantee, had to lay off a number of staff last month - including me. We had already received numerous emails instructing us on language that we could no longer use about addiction treatment and recovery. Sorry to see my former employer's website is now "under maintenance."

I said a few words on the @teslatakedown.com call for the big day of action on 3/29.
I'm much more at ease in behind the scenes roles but I must keep speaking up bc I can. This regime is trying to crush dissent--look at the permanent residents detained for their political views. It's dangerous.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen sweeping layoffs to nearly every single federal agency. Firing thousands of employees with no notice and no reason is cruel, leaving individuals unable to serve in the places they love, losing their paychecks, and withdrawing their health insurance.

WA’s older forests capture carbon better than nearly any other
These big trees, in their roots, needles and branches, hold more carbon longer than any young plantation. They are world champion climate change fighters.
The headline says it all (but read the article too!).
DNR is on the wrong path. Cutting mature forests on public lands is a crime against humanity—we don't mean that metaphorically. We need these forests, and they need us. (2nd article in this week's series.)

Image of a happy Bobby Righi, 86 and a retired community college math teacher, tromping through the woods to get rid of "timber sale boundary" signs and survey flagging.
Bobby, a retired math teacher, who I was floored to realize AFTER a full day of tromping through the woods, is 86. "Old growth forests help us feel our connection to the past, clean the air we breathe, & are a deep source of beauty. We cannot live well without them."
