Think that is fair, I think RW is good but probably tapping into Vestys work (which is sensible).

🌹England Rugby

Attack: Under Jones good to very good but began to decline 2021 - 2022. Improving again now under Borthwick.

BUT

Defence: Problems started in 2020 and increased to the point where Jones was sacked. Now as bad as it was in the days of Robinson/Ashton/Johnson.

Rugby is trending away from multi-phase play and more towards starter plays. Against Italy, Wales had 17 line-outs from which to launch attacks. Here’s what happened at ever single one. 🧵

1. Italy disrupt, a few pick and goes, Wales kick

Not slow at all, this was asked last well as well, it's a fair question.

So the Y axis is just needed for the visual, to spread the players across the caps...it isn't needed but can't find a way to hide it.

What I think we're seeing en large is an effort for Teams to develop their bench now ahead of 2027.

Most teams will take a reduced strength side on tour this summer, Lions tour and a chance to rest key player said cycle.

Perhaps an indicator of the uptick from England yesterday was
A: their experience and use off the bench
B: the experience of the pack 364 caps vs 251 with 155 vs 112 coming off the bench.

Obviously total caps aren't everything discretion is important.

Inexperience of decision making is constantly flag but looking at the 2/8/9/10/15 spine of the team we see:

Wales = 271
France = 220
Scotland = 202
Ireland = 199
Italy = 192
England = 113

And Finally bench impact. We again see the potential impact of the Irish Bench, but interestingly Englands bench jumps from the least experienced to 2nd most experienced behind Ireland.

166 caps entering the fray with George and Daly.

What is he talking about?

Pouring rain, a hugry defence? They should be playing the touchline and pressuring the Italian lineout.
