I think if we get pace in wide attacking areas, some more energy and physicality in midfield, we will be much better next season regardless of manager

That’s my feeling too. He definitely deserves his share of criticism but so do the players. So many have been well below what’s expected of them. Still could finish 3rd in what’s been a largely poor quality season

Could make an argument for Alonso or Nagelsmann, sure. I think both could potentially do well but to say they definitely would or are definitely better managers is just not based in reality for me. Saying Klopp and Pep were risky hires for Liverpool and Man City is a wild claim also

Such as? I don’t think Alonso is definitely better. Iraola? No. Glasner? No. Nagelsmann? Risky but could do well. Hoeness would be interesting.

I also don’t really think there’s a definite better manager out there to replace him. I firmly believe if you want to sack someone you have to get someone better. Right now, I don’t see one as definitely better (of who there is to choose from)

While there’s been little progress in style/results this season, I do feel he will have earned a chance to have the summer and find solutions to how the PL changed this year and do it with a more complete squad

Seems likely to me that barring a collapse and missing a CL spot from here, Slot will at least begin next season as head coach. I’m fine with that. He’s had to deal with a lot this season
