Where I find these technologies being the MOST difficult is on Windows if you are using WSL. WSL vs Windows use different file i/o, different handling of DNS (try name resolution on foo.local names)...then the other challenge I always have is Python package / module management.

My challenge with Langchain (and llamaindex) is all was fine with a simple example. But anything past that, I found it was easier to use the underlying apis because the classes were SO high level they were hard to spelunk. Then as you found out, the libraries are changed...frustrating.
