I would buy Red Camera from Nikon they should never have let it get away.

My grandfather had one like that and we would do 25 turkeys at once.

But also what it must be like to get deference and flattery so often that it doesn't seem like a warning.

Thinking about how the conversation always protects the pride of the man even when he is being an idiot and how this is replicated in LLMs

And now I can't stop thinking about the conversation in "Men explain things to me" as it might have happened between two women and two men and if a guy wrote the book and a woman reviewed it.

The most useful thing AI (LLMs) have done for me is make it clear that most men in my life have a very different impression of mansplany conversation than most women in my life, I kind of know that but I thought they just didn't notice, not that it was something they were impressed by

I have been tagging slave owners in my tree but I wonder if I should change the picture instead.

For example there is an example of illegitimacy on my tree and there is a photo of a rose with a long note explaining. I see flags used for immigration. I see a photo of shackles for slave owners.

I have been spending some quality time on Ancestry lately and I am fascinated by the information sharing practices.

Most things come up as hints but photos set to display on someone's tree are often automatically imported.

So really important information is often captured in photos.

Rapiers at Dawn, blades in the dark set in the world of Jane Austen where the consequences are social ruin.

Sadly I just steamed that one but I kind of wish someone would do it.

#TTRPG friends:

I assume *someone* has done a hack of Blades in the Dark that trades the grimdark death spiral for something that feels more like Leverage or the Oceans movies - still dangerous but optimistic with strong team dynamics and relationship growth.

Pointers and boosts appreciated.

One of the things modern Western masculinity has lost is the idea that men feel Big Emotions; that feeling Big Emotions and sharing them is part of being a man, and that putting yourself in the position to feel Big Emotions is, in a way, part of what defines heroic masculinity.

Don't worry this isn't the only education kiddo is getting, but I was really impressed that they start with this, relationship education right when it starts to matter the most.

I don't know why wants their kid not learning about healthy boundaries but that is a choice you can make. However the form that lets you make that choice does tell you they might call you up for a little chat if you do have a problem. I find that pretty reassuring.

So this is the relationship and sexuality education my kid is going to get in grade three that I can have them not take part in. What I want to know is how can I sign up too, this is good stuff.

John Waters at a No Kings protest on 3/27/2026, smiling and holding a brown cardboard sign which says in black marker “TRUMP RUINED BAD TASTE”. Waters is wearing yellow-rimmed sunglasses, a knee-length red and black checked shirt or jacket, black pants, and a dark red scarf.

Oh man so true I am doing second law school and was not prepared.

But mostly I have been raging around about how fucking reasonable it all is!

Think about it this way, the broader you make the claims they accept the better a record you create for others similarly placed who might need it more.

There is nothing wrong with having options.

I'm looking for places that sell print versions of independent TTRPGs (and ideally where people meet up to play them) in the K-W/Grand River Metro area.

So far the only place I can think of is the Dragon in Guelph, but that's in Guelph. Is there anything closer to Waterloo?
