The Maxx is so good, it STILL feels ahead of its time in 2026. Absolutely gutted to hear about Kieth. We keep losing comic book legends and it breaks my heart.

orange tabby cat with white legs, belly and sides lies curled at the based of a destroyed Roman pilar, just barely fitting in the shade cast during the early afternoon in Rome.
If you ever go visit Rome and go see the spot Caesar got got, it's a really great bonus that it's currently a sanctuary for feral cats like this one, who get to laze about in the crumbling remnants of a fallen empire. As we all do, these days.

The rule for LLMs: Only use them in places where correctness doesn't matter or where the output can be checked for correctness automatically.
Having humans check MOSTLY right automated systems is the uncanny valley of automation that is a recipe for disaster.
Happy March 15. Here is my favorite Ides of March meme:
I just had virtually the same conversation with my nephew (humanities edition) - he’s graduating college in May and had wanted to go into academia but says it’s totally infeasible with so many departments not taking grad students and funding drying up.
We’re losing an entire generation of scholars.
an image of raphides, crytal needles. It says It's cause we are gettting stabbed by thousands of tiny needles called raphides!" to the right of that image is a photo of pineapple. on the right image is a sticker from The Onion of a guy whering a shirt that says "Sickos" looking through a window at the Raphides going "Yes ... ha ha ha ... Yes!"
Pineapples:
"To deter predation we've filled our bodies with countless crystal needles that will tear open the mouths of anything foolish enough to bite us, then with their mouth shredded, our flesh dissolving enzymes pour into the open wounds."
Humans:
"Jokes on You! We're into that Shit!"

Graph of award probability of R35 and R01 from NIH factbook as a function of review rank percentile. As is apparent, 2025 is a significant departure, with lower award probabilities at all scores <40 and significant departures from norm, where even being in the top 10% is no longer a nearly certain indicator of success. Data source: https://report.nih.gov/nihdatabook/report/302
The data is in: the NIH goalposts have shifted.
What were once almost certain fundable scores have become coin flips and what used to be likely grants have become aspirational, leading to fewer awards.
Another manifestation of how HHS policies have led to fewer awards and less science.
People are missing the point in replying to this. Shes not a billionaire because she gives her money away to charity and help people ten times over.

She is quite literally the billionaire that ISNT.
