the pre-relationship setup of their characters and the dynamic between them is absolutely crazy. unique characters with their own flaws, super natural progress of their relationship, their lives came together sooo naturally + not just coincidence, they sought out each other

i'd say it's a possible top 2/3, top 1 so far is still my love 金玉刀

the post-relationship part isn't underwhelming or anything (in fact it's still rlly good), it's just that the focus has shifted and it's more career-focused = property industry talk (which is interesting in its own right, but)

* some repetition in words used that may be glaring if you read a lot in one go
* don’t expect large, sprawling worldbuilding, it’s a story mostly about the people, their decisions, and the consequences
* if you want truly villainous or good mcs maybe not this one

* fake dating but make it everyone else's problem
* until it's also their problem
* equal relationship where they dote on and treasure each other so much
* found family lowkey
* a certain kind of humor that worked really well on me
* some discussions about 俠 and what it means to be 俠

read if you want/like:

* falling in love with your best friend without knowing he is your best friend
* lots of bickering, one-upping each other
* from distrust to admiration (despite the distrust) to developing feelings to love
* sm awkwardness bc wdym that's the childhood frd i thought was dead?
