WHY DID BBC BREAKFAST GIVE REFORM UK A SPECIAL GRAPHIC?
A small detail in a brief report sparks some big questions about what the national broadcaster is doing during the run up to local and national elections.

... and the second one, 400 metres up a one in eight hill. In both cases, no notice of the closures on the buses involved and online information was... wobbly. 2/2
It would be good to apply this to bus stops/road works too - provide temporary bus stops rather than closing a stop and expecting people to walk to the next one (yesterdays two (urban) examples, no, 1 would have been four major road crossings and a third of a mile away). 1/2
My article with a couple of photos of a destroyed dropped kerb, one showing it made safe with barriers, but unusable. If you need a plain text version, please let me know.
In the April edition of #HighwaysMagazine, I ponder a move to "maintaining accessibility" as being a better approach to faults within walking and wheeling space rather than "making safe".
Obsessed with this video. Incredible work. Beautiful. Art youtu.be/Da_SK3INxvw?...
OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

It's deeply unchristian to be upset about this and not, you know, all of the fucking murdering Israeli forces have been doing.

I am very much saddened to report that my friend, @nearlylegal.co.uk passed away this weekend.

Profanosaurus: when the guy who is driving the dinosaur-like bucket digger is really sweary.
If you’ve read the thread posted by palantir on X and are shocked, please read this piece that @tlecaque.bsky.social and I wrote 9 months ago. Palantir has not been shy about its fascist agenda, and neither has Karp, who has been rambling about Western Supremacy in text & video form for a while now
In case you missed it, I’m excited to say I’m on the latest Monstrosities Mon Amour : open.substack.com/pub/johngrin...
A large white waterfowl with orange feet stands in front of a door. On the door is a cardboard sign secured with tape that reads, "DO NOT LET THE DUCK IN." Adding insult to injury, I think the duck might be a goose.
Whatever you do,
Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.
We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

This literally happened to me two days ago!
"Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial: Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later."
Ah, is that as in "Tax disk and insurance certificate on windscreen"?
Yup, but that's for 'Own vehicle' only. Not sure why vehicle insurance data of the 'Is the driver insured?' sort shouldn't be available to the public.
No, your immediate destiny is to find a robin in your personal space, inspecting each and every thing that is pulled from the ground.
No, I don't think insurance is in the mix.
No sarcasm intended - and yes, those sites need to be pulled together (people have suggested that via the site's feedback form but no progress on that so far). MOT history can be useful too.
Does it really check insurance though? *Goes away to check...*
The video: it surprised me with, for me, its strong London Planetarium vibes.
And then, a tie-in with ANPR at filling stations + roadside ANPR. Do these systems already log MOT/VED and insurance status and the data that's already on file is ignored because challenging this at source would tie up the UK's resources for all time?
It would be good if there was a one-stop web site provided for members of the public to use a vehicle numberplate to check the VED, MOT and insurance status of a vehicle. As it is, we're not even permitted to check the last.
Motorists will be required to install black boxes in their vehicles and download an application to the mobile phone of every person who drives the car. Vehicles will be fitted with telematics equipment that tracks driving conduct, including velocity and braking habits, producing a weekly rating of green, amber or red.
Those who receive four red ratings over 12-month timeframe could face removal from the Motability programme. A pilot scheme in Northern Ireland last year resulted in vehicles being taken away from 300 individuals. The scheme has now confirmed that if someone receives a 'red' week alert, followed by the same rating for two successive weeks, they could lose their car.
Motability has confirmed it will capture and transmit a driver's exact position heading and present velocity; trip length; braking and turning manoeuvres; mobile telephone use, including handset make and identification number and software platform, while behind the wheel: and device background positioning via network and GPS. In a fresh statement Motability has acknowledged that 'high usage' during a week can trigger a red alert. but stressed there are 'no limits' on the number of journeys. The organisation added that if elevated usage alone prompts a red score, 'it will not impact the lease'
This is a human rights issue. You can't have different laws for #disabled people leasing a car, than you would have if an able person leases a car.

Seriously folks, if you ever want to understand the basics of humanitarian logistics then reach out as we're going to do more rounds of training throughout the year.
So many people comment on humanitarian emergencies and they don't have a clue what they're talking about.
Here's your chance
Tremendously depressing read. Also: proper reporting.
