The combined negotiating 'skill' of Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner would be laughed out of any elementary school lunchroom. In a million lifetimes, they should never be on a world stage.

New, from me: Take the Palantir manifesto seriously, if not literally.
It reveals that our tech philosopher kings want public money, but without public accountability. This creates a dilemma for governments unaligned with its techno-fascist vision. 🧵

Nevermind, I was wrong, I like the "impromptu street interview" format now

What is the German word for when all three of these women cabinet secretaries absolutely deserved to get fired and yet pretty much all the men cabinet secretaries and FBI director drunks do too. And yet .... 🤔
Today’s order concluding Illinois v. Trump confirms what's been clear to the people of our state from the beginning:
Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to occupy our streets was a reckless and illegal abuse of power.
Say what you will about the worst members of the Roberts Court, but they all make sure their wives are in on the grift.
Jane Roberts, Martha Alito and Ginni Thomas are equal partners with their husbands in the grand project of destroying the United States and enriching themselves in the process.
Now that the Supreme Court has ordered the Trump administration to refund companies what they paid in tariffs, yet there are still tariffs in place, what's the plan? Consumers continue to fork money over to corporations who will later get another refund?
A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief. The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."
The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.
Opening text of a thread by Palantir from X Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation. 2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible. 3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public. 4. The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software.
Palantir put out a 22-point summary of their CEO's book The Technological Republic. It's pitched as a defence of the West, but if you read it through the VDA framework, verification, deliberation, accountability, what it's actually doing looks rather different.

Palantir shouldn't even exist. Everything about it sounds illegal and unconstitutional.
The company run by the guy who literally said “I talk to nazis all the time online” while on camera? futurism.com/future-socie...
In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.
Then there are all the leftist men who tell us that women’s issues aren’t a priority because they say so and feel the need to explain to all of us why their personal financial concerns are far more important than our very lives.
And give people of color and of all genders their rights
The FBI Director, the DC US Attorney, and the Secretary of Defense walk into a bar.
Apparently like every day.
Is anyone in the Trump administration not a drunk, a junky, a predator or a psycho?
They mocked the field of gender studies as meaningless, but I think they really just knew it was onto them.
They're the softest bunch of insecure little manchildren play-acting what they have been told is manly and macho.

🔥SEN. @ossoff.senate.gov : “Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner’s on the Saudi payroll for $2 BILLION— as he leads 🇺🇸 diplomacy + asks sheikhs for billions more… Never have we seen so little effort to hide so much corruption. The Mar-a-Lago mafia taking corruption to spectacular new heights.”
Child: I know your name. Mamdani.
Obama: What’s his first name?
Child: Mayor.
I love this so much.
Barack Obama sat down with Mayor Zohran Mamdani in a Bronx child care center, reading “Alone and Together,” a book about connection, community, and belonging to preschoolers.
Sidebar: Not sure these little-ones knew who Obama was 😂
CNN: “It’s a blowout… not even close… Pope Leo absolutely crushing Trump when it comes to how popular they are.”

Seems like Democrats should flip the narrative and look for fraud and waste in those big contracts with powerful people. Bet you find a whole lot more of it there. Also cancel contracts in the interest of National Security with companies whose CEOs are friendly with US enemies.
the basic theory of DOGE was that if powerful people said it was fine it didn’t matter what the law said.
I think proving that theory wrong is worth significant effort
1. I could buy a tape/cd/vhs/DVD and know I could use it whenever, wherever forever. I OWNED my media.
2. My walkman/boombox/vhs/dvd player never had a tier system where I had to pay to skip built in ads.
3. Ai wasn't built into my old tech. I could turn clippy off and never deal with him again.
