Games made by developers on payroll are still needed for games to keep the franchise alive and innovating. Even if they're not innovating just having the games able to reach a wider audience with new controllers and on new consoles makes a big difference over sticking to PC, sideloaded mobile, etc.
You have to import and tweak them yourself and honestly they run pretty terrible right now. I'm hoping they'll get better but I would still much rather play an official game like rock band 2 or a game with a mod like rock band 3 deluxe over yarg given the option. 1/2
I am excited for stage tour though. It's going to have full animated venues with models and characters, on top of having full band support and many features missing in clones that official games had. 2/2
people have been clamoring for more ""official"" games to fill the shoes GH and RB left behind, and this isn't it for me personally. My make or break is full venues, and sound system only have video backgrounds. 1/2
