Latest #garmentsewing project complete! I made the La Ciotat skirt from Sewing Therapy. It was my first time using a pattern from this designer, and it was a nice quick make that will get a lot of use this spring/summer. I also always like a wrap skirt with a lot of overlap and the two ties are cute

At most I could maybe see someone going “that seems…dubious” to buy some time to come up with something more professional sounding than bursting into hysterical laughter.

There used to be a swing dance competition in Vancouver called Lindy Bout. When it was in its first year or so and I was at a dance in Seattle, someone asked me about my Lindy Bout shirt, I gave the quick rundown, and the reply was “wait, Lindy Boat, you’re dancing on a boat?”

I went for the sleeveless 1920s repro. It was very warm in the room, so I made the correct choice from that standpoint alone!

This one is simultaneously the simplest and most interesting of the bunch, it’s a repro of an extant plus size dress from the 1920s that I made as part of the Plus Pattern Project in 2021. Because it was the height of covid, it then languished in my closet for a very long time. Yeah, basically in winter I’m getting up in the dark, going to work in the dark, and coming home in the dark anyway, shifting it an hour doesn’t change much about Dec/Jan, and as you say I’d rather have a 9am sunrise in winter than a 3am sunrise in summer
