Tom Stoppard was one of the first modern playwrights I read. I still get chills when I think about Arcadia. He will be missed.
Are you a fan of grounded, one-shot urban fantasy titles like The Monsters We Defy, Siren Queen and Book of Night? You'll love That Which Lingers...
Good news - That Which Lingers is in its final draft now. Pursuing various publication pathways - now it's a waiting game...
Look upon my books, ye mighty, and despair!
Bewitchingly Canadian. www.minerva-grey.com for more on The Stricken Squad, an atmospheric urban fantasy series set in Victoria BC.
Awww yeah...
When David meets Leo, who claims he can speak to the dead, he must decide whether the principles he's based his life and work on are really as true as he's believed them to be in a world where evidence is hard to come by.
Announcing the (draft) title for my next novel: That Which Lingers. Set in Vancouver, BC, it features David Wan, an exorcist committed to banishing the dead before they can do harm.
Had to take a pause to cut out and replace a minor plot line that wasn't jiving with the overall flow of the novel. That's mostly cleaned up now and I'm getting back on track.
Ty ty!! <3
Haha, there's some character similarities. Nothing else, though. :D
thanks! really just looking at the title for now, art is just to help me present it.
Very cool!!
Just looking at the title for now - cover art is just to help me present it at this time. Still quite a ways away from actual cover design :)
Interesting perspective on verbs! Some info:
Genre is magical realism; it features an exorcist committed to banishing the dead before they can do harm, meeting a man who claims he can speak to the dead - a sign of phonies. They have to learn to work together, while overcoming personal prejudice.
Back with 3 more title options for my upcoming novel sketched out on fake covers (NOT final art). Do any of these catch your attention?
I absolutely recognize it's a tricky ask without more info available. These are excellent first reactions, thanks! I've got a few more options to come, but interested to gather the kinds of thoughts people would have seeing this in a store - which your response helps with :)
They are!
I find titling one of the hardest parts of the creative process. Something that helps me is conceptualizing cover art. So here are 3/6 potential titles and mock-ups (absolutely NOT the actual covers) for my upcoming novel. Do any grab you?
Some summer downtime among my betas; preparing for a busy fall!
Back from vacay and following up with initial readers for final feedback!
I've got a full team of folks I work with regularly, but thanks for the reach out!
Waiting for last round of beta readers' comments.
How dedicated is your editor?
Sound on!
2nd round of outline review and resulting edits. Next is close line-level read, followed by another round of reader reviews. Then editor!
You know how that occult BS be.
See things a little differently...
