Well, the listserv is also complaining about how awful it is to have at large council representation. Though I’m not completely convinced that wards would give them the representation they are looking for. Truth is that even if Fannon wins, he’ll still only be 1 vote out of 7.

Keep an eye on the shoulder (& stretch it as much as you can!) I got frozen shoulder a little while back. Very common in menopause. Sent me to PT where we discovered that the rest of my body was super constricted due to a TMJ issue. Getting older ain’t for the faint of heart.
Part of it may have been timing. Pretty sure I saw her coming out of her house to walk her dog as I was walking over to the church. But yes.
Yup. And she had a Fannon sign out in front of her townhouse. Of course.
I’ve been going there weekly for 2 years. Sometimes I walk or bike but often drive depending on how late I’m running or if like today I plan on going somewhere after. Has never once been an issue.
DM me your phone # & I’ll text it to you. Wish I had thought to take a picture of the street w/ empty parking.
That was absolutely my 1st reaction! Prob is that it said that “residents & Pastor Kate” were making the request & we are using Good Shep’s space. Tempted to leave a note letting her know that I live in Del Ray, am in the same situation (no driveway) & that street parking is a community resource.
It’s a whole experience! Just wait until you get a bit punchy (usually around 3ish). Time is so weird when you are working as an election officer!
Funnily, after a quick trip to MOMs, I came home to find cars taking up all of the parking in front of my house & had to park down a block or so.Because my street is across from MV Rec Ctr, MVCS & Duncan Library. And you know what? It’s fine! It’s part of living in an active community, not a suburb.
I just can’t: Parked on Hancock for my meditation group at Good Shepherd like I’ve always done. Found a note on my windshield asking me to not “take up residents’ parking” & to park next to the church/on Luray. Dear Reader, there were multiple empty parking spots on Hancock. Was there 1 hr.
Love that! Are you having fun? Bummed to have to sit this one out (besides actually voting of course!)
Was my first time biking up Braddock for the meetup. I stayed on the sidewalk but was also surprised that it didn’t seem nearly as backed up as I expected based on what folks were saying on the listservs…lots of cars but def no gridlock.
We stopped on that corner for a little while during our walk w/ CM Chapman. We pointed out that no one (at 6:15pm) was turning left. And at the same time, we had to make room for a father & daughter who were biking down the sidewalk to get past us. Saw so many bikers & walkers while we were out.
Feels like they probably could have gotten more $ in total with a tri- or quadplex.
Ok…that’s even more impressive because you are a millennial, right? Easier to do as a stubborn Gen-Xer (though most of my cohort did jump on that bandwagon).
No romance (sorry @martaschantz.bsky.social!)
My claim to fame is sticking with my boot cut jeans through the millennial skinny jeans phase (I wore skinnies w/ boots but otherwise was boot cut all the way).

Needed a break from political podcasts so diving back into my audiobooks.
Good backstory of Red from The Girl of Fire & Thorns series. Orphan girl w/special powers sold as slave. Rescued by queen. Tries to prove herself as 1st girl in Queens Guard.
This! And why do solutions to housing & traffic have to be so counterintuitive??
Just got 2 Frank Fannon flyers today - he’s definitely leaning into “opposing over-development & traffic gridlock” & fear mongering about zoning that “allows houses to be bulldozed & replaced with apartments”. Kind of wants you to forget he’d be 1 vote out of 7.
I almost started moving my plants out onto the porch. Guess I’ll wait one more day.
Cold…
My Dad once dismissed my political views as “bleeding heart” & assured me that I’d stop feeling so guilty & become more conservative as I got older (I was in my early 30s). I’m 57 & am actually way more liberal now…🤷‍♀️
Took me a minute to realize this was not an update from the ALX adult prom…
A chonky B&W cat who looks very panda-ish is sprawled on an orange tweed chair.
Oh, to be able to relax as well as Gansey.
But don’t you know, Tom? 15 minute cities are a plot to control us by taking away our freedom to drive.
(Sorry…been spending too much time on listservs listening to people complain about bike lanes).
Don’t get me started on quicksand…
It’s times like these that I appreciate my Mr. Car Wash membership.
It’s hilarious what they will put up with, isn’t it. My cats often find themselves in similar positions.
Yes! I’m currently in the middle of a back & forth on the AVA (BevHills) listserv which can be exhausting & I was hoping that Ryan was going to write this up so I can share it.
Join us! Though it’s also Book Sale weekend for me - gotta love it when my two volunteer groups overlap…
