I thanked her for being part of my midlife crisis and she was like "you wanted to do this for a decade and I appreciate your trust with something so important" 😭

I'm not sure that scheduling my tattoo following 2 consecutive weeks of travel and less than 24 hours after I got home was a great choice buuuuut the custom piece turned out beautifully (I cried when I saw the design), the artist is lovely, patient, and kind. Shop vibes were immaculate.
As someone who was raised in the IE, I'm imagining this to be the Wizard Book version of that viral Willy Wonka experience.
I was about to say "the only thing he doesn't hate is himself" but any time he crawls out of his cringe meme hole suggests otherwise
Things that work: giant rocket, very precise math, orbital mechanics, cameras, iPhones
Things that don’t work: Microsoft Outlook, toilets, sat phones
Latest #OrionToiletTracker update:
Toilet is "fine" and I'm assuming in good spirits since the crew is using alternatives, but the evacuation vent is somewhat clogged, likely due to ice.
yuck.
Dennis Nedry Jurassic Park meme: (top) Nedry yells "SPACEX DID ANOTHER FALCON 9 LAUNCH!" People in the background are labeled "Artemis II Enjoyers" (Bottom) Nedry says to Grant, "See, nobody cares."
Oh wow, tossing more Starlink debris into LEO, neat. Anyway.
The US used to do not-blowing up crewed launches quite frequently! It was not the norm.
[This is not to diminish the Challenger (on launch) and Columbia (on reentry) tragedies]

I was curious about SpaceX's reaction to all of this. A wildly successful mission, on a thoroughly tested platform, they couldn't build. A launch system that's now gone out to the moon 2x. Meanwhile they cheer during their own rapid unscheduled disassemblies like they're fireworks. Deeply unserious.
Feeling very fortunate for that! Such beauty and wonder amidst horror and atrocities. 😭
It me. Ugly tears.
Latest: Still no Toilet Joy. Needing to use alternatives. 😕
"Integrity and Carroll Crater, Copy" 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I guess tune in around 10 PDT for Toilet Talk (but watch today's other stuff, too!!!: www.youtube.com/live/z-j1uxB...)
Today's #OrionToiletTracker update, courtesy of SO:
(props to him for "Mario and Luigi"... because... plumbing 😭)
“They’re destroying more than fifty research facilities across thirty-one states, labs that house decades of irreplaceable long-term science…And they’re replacing all of it — the offices, the scientists, the institutional knowledge, the professional independence — with fifteen political appointees”
Maladaptive pattern: Microsoft Outlook is giving me trouble - I hate this useless piece of shit software - Depression After cognitive restructuring: Microsoft Outlook is giving me trouble - Wow... I'm just like a real life astronaut - No depression
Somehow still finds your neighbor's speaker set up, an LG TV (not yours), and a random car's infotainment system.

*ala the ISS Pee Tank (damn you autocorrect)
Screenshot from Space.com taken Saturday, April 4, 2026: LIVE Artemis 2 LIVE: "Artemis 2 astronauts halfway to moon, report 'burning smell' from toilet"
We need an Orion Toilet tracker aka the ISS Pee Tank
Can we take another? I think I blinked.
This is obviously optimal on the few carriers that still offer free or relatively inexpensive bag check. In my case, work reimburses, so why not? I'm already not thrilled to be going. Might as well make myself slightly less annoyed.
To destination: pack clothes, toiletries, anything you will need for 2 days in case of bag loss in carry-on.
Return? Basically anything I would be upset to lose goes in the carry-on. Everything else is checked.
Is it as annoying as needing to get up much earlier to meticulously repack to get everything to fit back in a carry-on when you check out? Absolutely not.
Take hotel pile -> distribute over bags. Less airport scrambling.
Bonus: I can now overpack meeting clothes without agonizing over space.
Super obvious travel tip for my time blind neuroatypical friends: Checked a mostly empty bag on my last trip. Is waiting for luggage at the claim annoying? Yes.
Maybe I misheard during the Q&A, but it sounds like a single event upset did something in the waste management system controls?
Cosmic rays broke the toilet? 🫠
We can do hard things.
