Maugham was a tax barrister before the GLP. How would he have become one of Rowling's friends? The opportunity has simply never arisen.
Further: how many cases has he claimed the GLP has won when in fact they've been dismissed for lack of standing or simply lost? (The number is greater than zero.)

But it’s a clever argument style. Your opponent is unhinged, emotion-driven, flustered by your calm presentation of facts. They’ve lost their footing because you’ve demonstrated the weakness of the foundation of their very belief system. That they’re BIG MAD proves how right you were.

Screen grab of part of the article. Banksy and Satoshi weren’t hiding wrongdoing. They were hiding themselves. In Banksy’s case, the anonymity IS the art. The whole point is that the work speaks without the person. The art appears without permission, without attribution, without a market position or a gallery or a brand to protect. That’s not incidental to its power. It is its power. The work on the wall speaks precisely because there is no face behind it available for interview.

With Satoshi, the anonymity IS the architecture. Bitcoin was designed to be leaderless. An identifiable founder is a vulnerability.

Oops I missed Rachel's replies. How amusing if baseball is doing it wrong (which is a bit weird? Or maybe the 8 inches is because that's where contact would occur with the bat?)

I was talking here about football. I think the baseball implementation of how many objections teams can make is right.

It is, really - because TV has far better replays for offside and goals, so they were being embarrassed. But the implementation is terribly flawed.

Estate agent websites that throw up holding pages for every street and alley in their area to game the search engine results, but use a stock photo to illustrate it, are always funny.

Haven Place in Ealing doesn't look anything like the website claims it does.

VAR is used far too much. Ideally they should just scrap it, but limiting it to one or two wrong goes per team should be the lot.
