WE are awesome! Daughter decided to clean out the canning shed under her house today; something we've never fully done since moving here. Two vehicles full of trash, organization of everything else, and bother the canning shed and the porch attached are clean!
only 4-5 hours of work.

🤣
I'll try to remember to get you a pic of it on Friday - I'm off tomorrow for doggo surgery.
My "favorite" was the time this woman's four year old took a shit on the library floor - like 10 feet from the desk, in full view of everyone, and she just grabbed him and left. Never came back. Still owes us $500 in books and DVDs.
That was soooo fun to clean up!
Give me the rapture guy instead
This I can understand.
People offended that I'm a library director without my MLIS, just 0ver 100 hours of training, the state certification, and commensurate other work experience should be a whole lot more offended if they thought someone with an MLIS would accept my pay level.
I gotta ask you - how do you make the felt curl like that? Is it heat set? Do you have them wired?
At least now you know where your extra heads went.
Kelly Link, y'all. Absolutely nailing the fucking zeitgeist of the moment.
😙👌
Tune in today at 2 pm ET! bit.ly/3PDvyyi
And buy them a case of condoms
Yes.
I use an old magazine rack (we don't carry magazines anymore, no one reads them) so I filled it with coloring pages for all levels and anyone can grab some.
Isn't though.
We won't discuss the pay, the belligerent people, and the people who need mental help you are unequipped to help.
Keep checking your local library pages- or go in and ask. Shelving is my least favorite job, and if I were a larger library with any sort of budget, I'd totally hire someone to do it.
Going in as a volunteer often gets your foot in the door for the jobs, but doesn't pay your bills right now.
If this were true, then we wouldn't have need of a foster care system except for orphans.
I think we can step back further than that to the 70s and 80s - Pat Benatar, The Police, Tina Turner.
Then there's the side genre of objectifying young girls for sex- The Outfield, Winger, Ted Nugent, Kiss, Stray Cats.
No wonder we have issues now.
No idea what that is - I get a black rectangle that says "no glyph" in it.
I'll happily talk about this with you any time - I've had CFS since I was a teen; they had no clue what it was then, but figured it out at 27- I had a great doctor then.
For decades, I beat myself up for not being able to do what I thought I should. I finally gained mostly peace with it.
I totally understand this.
I originally felt bad that I wasn't suffering the way some other people were, because home with my husband was the norm at the time. I was self isolated more for him, but the internet was still here.
It got harder.
This, this, this.
Chickies are crowing up - instinctually learning to scratch, learning to roost, and one brave soul has figured out getting to the side of the brooder.
Time to fix up the next level brooder so they have more room before it's time to g out into the grow out part of the main coop.
OH, and "Or", not "our".
I really can type - some days.
I just read this to my husband, and he said "Know what? Women are having an equally hard time finding me who have a job and are willing to come home and do all the chores as well."
He's not wrong.
When did this become all the fault of women, for not wanting a grown child? This is not a new thought
I am wondering if the author lives at home with his parents and still expects his mom to take care of him like he's 5.
/2 Exceptions exist culturally- but the men still work (and the women), and people who live at home to take care of elderly family members, and those who live at home but STILL have jobs and contribute economically to the family.
Not 25 year old toddlers still expecting mommy and daddy to provide.
Holy molies - still pounding that college drum when the majority of the country, over 60%, doesn't have a college degree. 9% of the country don't have high school diplomas, yet they manage to have jobs. They manage to earn a living, pay their bills - with our without roommates. Exceptions exist.
I think this is the last time I will do this, trying to get candidates out to my community to speak to the people.
They complain they want them here, then don't show up, and only have critiques rather than assistance.
And it apparently became a one man job once again.
Worked myself into illness.
to summarize, this week jd vance laysplained st augustine of hippo to the augustinian pope, while the pope visited hippo
