Built my first watch today. Bought a beat up 2011 vintage Seiko 5 Sports automatic on eBay and kept the movement, dial and hands, installing them into a new case along with a new bezel and screw-in crown. Super happy!

I’ve done this enough and have a variety of LED types to solve most situations. I’m also using a cool white color temperature for most cabin lighting to make things consistent.
