My general thoughts on what I’ve been seeing for the past week or so.
I’ll be blocking and keeping my community safe from all abusers. In my opinion, rushing people to pick a side or shaming those that don’t come forward on a situation is harmful.

idk arthur, maybe you should lock kay up like a bird in a cage and keep him always in your sight. just in case!
I can't remember if I ever posted this one here, but: this comic features another scene in the kay-perceval cinematic universe that takes place some years down the line, after perceval becomes a knight. birds in pretty cages. etc.
+ some other jekyll & hyde art I did back in 2022 :)
a briefly happy reunion between Flavus and Arminius, before everything in (Tacitus Annals 2.10-11) goes down
Dodgers broadcast was discussing the science behind the perception of time between children and adults. After hearing the explanation, the color commentator pauses and asks, "Am I gonna feel any better?"
Andy Pages then smashes a dinger into space, thus ending the existential crisis on commentary.

Photo of a Bronze Age socketed axe head with a zoomed in thumbnail of a finger print on one of the faces towards the blade edge. The axe is dark green with oxidation and the surface of the blade edge has been lost.
There’s something extraordinary about this otherwise pretty standard Late Bronze Age axehead:
A human fingerprint. A real, visible and tangible connection to someone from 3000 years ago. If that doesn’t give you goosebumps, idk what will. 🥹

For context: I work at a 501c3 nonprofit. We sued the Trump admin to block his rollbacks of environmental rules on average once per week from 2017-2020. We won 90% of those cases. This is why they want to stop us

A handy list of people doing great work outside the academy.
As usual, omissions are not personal, just give me a nudge.
I apologize if this list exists, but I made my own list of folks interested in ancient gender and sexuality.
Please let me know if you’d like to be added. I made this in haste and know many people are missing. go.bsky.app/7WfPe2L
It was more of an accident but I just love this painting in black and white.
Image is of the god Krishna and the warrior Arjuna from Hindu mythology, as depicted in the Bhagvat Gita, a supplement to the epic Mahabharata, with a projection of Krishna’s true multi headed and godly form of Vishnu in the air. You see them on sitting on top of a horse drawn carriage, Krishna in the seated up front in the riders seat, with Arjuna in the passenger seat in the back. Four white horse are up front.
Picture is of the new Oppenheimer movie poster. Picture is in monotone, in shades of red and yellow, representing fire. You see a 2/3 crop of Oppenheimer in a suit and bowler hat standing at the center of the poster. Behind him is a depiction of the nuclear bomb that he’d worked on. Bottom of the poster has the movie title & credits
Alrighty!
Been a while since I did a cultural thread, but I feel w/ the Bhagvat Gita quote from #Oppeneheimer trending, it's high time we do so!
So, let's dive in!
