When I saw it was 3k I was kinda tempted, but I'm sure it's way more than that now

A ministry born on TikTok - Living Lutheran An ELCA pastor shares his experiences and what he learned from navigating social media as ministry.

My article in Living Lutheran is live! It's kinda surreal, and a good reminder for me to write more.

We need a bigger trolley lobby

Also just a note, I'm not Jewish in any way. More power to you if that's the case, just not a part of my identity. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Remember that antisemitism will always walk hand in hand with the Christian right.

If I was to create online courses, what would you want to see?

Again, not doubting that anti-Asian racism existed, I just don't see any connection between what I said and what you're saying I said.

I can't find anything that verifies that phrase being associated with anti-Asian sentiment

Fully agree! We went from a neighborhood policing model to a cops on patrol in hostile territory model

I say all this as a car owner, who would love to not own a car. Being in rural Wisconsin, it's just not feasible if we want to see our parents or siblings ever again haha. Deprioritize cars! Prioritize walking and other modes of transit! Get out our the box!

Don't like the lack of local food options? We used to all eat locally, buying from neighbors which increased social capitol, but once again cars centralize our food production, at the cost of quality and community connection.

Don't like modern capitalism? Cars enable (and encourage) consumers to shop at massive nationwide stores, where they get the best deals, and never have to have the inconvenience of walking somewhere, or talking to a member of their community. It encouraged this raging individualism we now have.

Don't like racism? Cars allowed white flight from mixed race neighborhoods. There is no redlining unless white people can drive into work. Cars directly allowed modern segregation.

Don't feel comfortable exercising? When giant metal boxes can cut you down anytime you step outside your door, it's hard to feel safe on the street, the main way any of us can get around. We used to bike everywhere, but this dropped after cars took over our infrastructure.

Don't have money? We used to have very good public transit and intercity trains, but the car lobby had us defund both of those in the 40s-70s. Now everyone has to spend a ton of money on individual cars to get anywhere.

Don't have a walkable neighborhood? It's because death machines fly by at killing speed down every street, and crossing said street literally risks your life every time.

Don't know your neighbors? Many of us have garages, and never get within speaking distance

I'm convinced that a majority of our social problems come back to cars.

I'm not saying it would solve all our problems, but we should double NASA's budget.

The reason folks are pushing back on you is that people of color, who were approved to come to the US, were denied entry by the Trump administration. However, "refugees" who have questionable status as such are being welcomed because they're white. Those are factual statements.

I love it when authors do this!

I'm so proud of all the work we've done to welcome refugees in the US, it's one of the most Christian things we've done as a profoundly harmful nation. It's shameful that now those resources are only being used to resettle white Afrikaners, just embarrassing.

Fingers crossed the next pope chooses a cool name, such as Pope Hilarius the II.

Y'all notice how now that there's somebody with credible anti-Semitic allegations, the right is suddenly quiet?

A Happy Easter to you and yours! Also, a friendly reminder that Christ did not rise from the grave for us to keep oppressing marginalized people.
