In his letter to Visa, Ferguson writes, "It is inconsistent with American values to deny law-abiding individuals the
ability to run their legitimate businesses and feed their families because they attracted the ire of...overzealous activists"
And it won't stop no matter how much I plead.

Important update for creators!
Incredibly timely and powerful report out today from @publicpubics.bsky.social and @internetmaggie.com laying out the debanking challenges faced by adult industry workers in Canada
Excerpt from Copyleaks blog post about Grok's AI-CSAM/NCII problem: "The trend appears to have started several days ago, when some adult-content creators prompted Grok to generate sexualized imagery of themselves as a form of marketing on X. However, almost immediately, users began issuing similar prompts about women who had never appeared to consent to them. In other words, Grok moved from consensual self-representation to a form of scaled nonconsensual image generation."
I've said it a lot lately: the problem with nonconsensual deepfake porn of adults isn't the "porn" part, it's the "nonconsensual" part. That HAS to be accounted for when regulating, otherwise you're just banning legal porn, which is (1) unconstitutional but (2) what the Heritage Foundation wants.
Sex is a fundamental need for the vast majority of human beings. Controlling sex means controlling people.
Sexual expression is censored because it's powerful.
FWIW, HN (really, Tech / Daily) is how the post got to me. It definitely got me thinking and inspired me to dig into the state of syndication tools (+ check out your other writing).
THIS. It took me until my 30's to fully accept it. I think it has a lot to do with stigma. While the public discourse about mental health has improved *somewhat* in recent years, the stigma of taking meds still very much exists / is exacerbated by internalized shame. Thanks for sharing this!
huh...

I've never been prouder of you.
Thank you for sharing this! Just a few minutes of browsing the archives of the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin yielded some absolute bangers (that are actually relevant to my work in addition to being highly entertaining)...
For anyone who needs to hear this: sex with 15 year old girls is not "barely legal," it's ILLEGAL.

I am so proud of Corn Telethon. I love @siridahl.com so much and it means so much that we get to make such a beautiful event. It's a 12 hour variety show / fundraiser for great SWer mutual aid orgs and it takes place on September 4th from Noon Eastern until Midnight. A VERY truncated guest list:
Friends and fans, if you do watch pirated porn (with the increase in government regulations it's the only option in some places), do the right thing and send the creator who made it a couple of bucks.
Please, please, please consult a lawyer and not ChatGPT if you're able.
It took a few extra days, but it's out! 🎉
This thing took me over a month to write, so I hope it's useful for folks!
I was clearly a bit overly optimistic last week when I thought I'd be able to publish the Age Verification Compliance toolkit I've been writing by today, but it's going through final legal review and will be out next week.

What I can't get over: "By 10am on Friday, data suggested an extra 66,000 internet users in the UK had begun using the dark web."
I'm at TrustCon in San Francisco this week to learn about the latest trust and safety challenges faced by online platforms, how companies are approaching them, and bring that knowledge back to FSC member companies. If you want to meet up for a coffee, DM me!
I realize lot of people are panicking right now, and I don’t know what the future holds. But I do know this: the adult community has never lacked for enemies or hurdles or hardships. It’s made us strong, it's made us smart and it’s made us resilient. This is not our first rodeo.
