When I have time/mood, I love to cook. Also not afraid of herbs & spices, which liven up so many dishes. My latest from Silk Road Spice Company in Alberta arrived earlier, nothing too exciting but their herbs & spices are topnotch. California Basil is different from regular basil.

My grandmother grew pansies and Johnny Jump Ups, lupines and big orange poppies and they imprinted on my brain as a little child. Probably where my love of gardening began, that and my other grandparents small farm and huge garden.
They are what are called hardy annuals, and are quite good at carrying on through the winter and then blooming when snow melts. Delightful little flowers. There was a line called Icicle pansies some years ago but I don't see them anymore.

Tulip Withdrawal Syndrome has been averted! I buy my tulips, grown in PEI, at either Stirling Farm Market in Greenwich or or Buds and Bygones in Wolfville. The latter JUST got in fresh tulips, Pdoubles and possibly viridiflora or parrots. Wheeeee! Cassie approves of them as always.
