Thank you, Cahir! I hope you are doing well.
Ever wonder if a baby knows what time it is? This work by @circatwenty4.bsky.social and collaborators says that the fetus synchronizes its daily rhythms to mom before birth. tinyurl.com/yk3m8fx3 #SRBRa #circadian #chronomedicine
Thank you!
Great news from the lab - we’ve been awarded a MIRA (R35)!
This grant provides 5-year support for our research program. We are very grateful to NIGMS/ #NIH for supporting our research. We will be hiring a research technician and a postdoc.

Beyond delighted to share our amazing collaboration with Thierry Alquier's lab @alquierthierry.bsky.social on a conserved role for neuronal lipid droplets in regulating energy homeostasis in vivo led by Celena Cherian, Romane Manceau, Danie Majeur, and Colin Miller www.nature.com/articles/s42... /1
Congratulations! Looking forward to reading this.
We’re recruiting!
Exciting opportunities in our lab supported by a
@wellcometrust.bsky.social Discovery Award.

Never seen a more compelling endorsement for submitting your work to GENETICS @genetics-gsa.bsky.social
As a recent course alumna, I highly recommend this course to all Drosophila neuroscientists!
Elsevier costs were ~£1.7B in 2025 newsletter.journalology.com/p/elsevier-2...
Compare that to arXiv 👇
I think Neuro could use a PLoS Neuro journal. OA, publishing rigorous work across diverse systems using genetic/molecular to systems/computational/cognitive approaches.
Have lobbied for this as a @plosbiology.org Adv Board member but it hasn't happened so far. Thoughts?

The proud tradition continues! Please spread this widely and encourage outstanding students to apply! The CSHL Fly Course is an amazing opportunity and experience.
We are so looking forward to CSHL Neurobiology of Drosophila 2026 🔬 🧠.
The new application deadline is April 13th. Come join us!

Congratulations, Joanna! Well deserved 🥂
Barber lab’s first preprint!
Drosophila insulin‑producing cells can be regulated by circadian clock neurons via PDF, suggesting that a core “clock” neuropeptide can influence the activity of non‑clock neurons through volume transmission.
Felicitaciones, Caro!
Deeply honoured to have been awarded a Wellcome Trust Discovery Award to study how competition is encoded in the brain.
This builds on the discoveries of outstanding past/present lab members.
Grateful to mentors/collaborators/colleagues for their support.
We are recruiting postdocs/PhD students.
and found ...?
Thank you! I hope to see you soon.
If our puppy keeps growing at this rate she may actually become a pony : )
You are the best :)
We’re hiring!
Our lab is seeking a research technician interested in neurobiology. This position is ideal for recent graduates looking for a 2‑year research experience before their next academic chapter. Experience with Drosophila is a plus.
Please share.
