You do realize all the sewers, electrical & utilities are under the streets, right? And that the buildings do have foundations, right? You can literally look 15ft down through the grates under the street. This isn’t an engineering issue

Canal is blocked, but Iberville & Bienville aren’t blocked from turning onto Bourbon. There’s also nothing blocking Esplanade if someone was traveling the wrong way.
