Want to learn more about our recent work disentangling the conflation between hypergraphs and higher-order interactions?
I will be giving a @beyondtheedge.network seminar March 16, 2026 3:00 PM CET.
Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2602.16937

I discuss our current work disentangling misconceptions around "higher-order" networks: arxiv.org/abs/2602.16937
Explainer thread for the paper here: bsky.app/profile/tiag...
New on the arxiv:
“Graphs are maximally expressive for higher-order interactions”
arxiv.org/abs/2602.16937
We clarify central misconceptions in the recent literature on "higher-order networks".

Explainer 🧵: 1/N
I wrote a blog post about the often stated but never explained assumption that communities in graphs should always be connected.
This is inconsistent with statistical significance and null models that underlie the most widely employed methods.

We had the opportunity to flex our methodological muscles and learn the dark secrets of the C++ internals of @graph-tool.skewed.de! 💀🤘
There will be more of these!
Any interest of participation from outside the group? 🤔

🚨 New paper on ArXiv:
“Uncertainty quantification and posterior sampling for network reconstruction”
TL;DR; We present an efficient method to sample the entire ensemble of possible network reconstructions that are compatible with an indirect observation, e.g. a dynamics.

Good news for Arch GNU/Linux users! Graph-tool is now available in the main repository! To install it, just do:
pacman -S python-graph-tool
The days of compiling graph-tool from AUR are over!
Rejoice! 🎉
Get 2025 started by reducing your compile times!
