it’s kind of like having a 2 year old nephew who is kind of a shithead but you still don’t want to see him cry or have him go hungry. you don’t have to like him but you should still begrudgingly look out for him and maintain his best interests

as soon as i thought of self love as “love yourself the way you would a houseplant or a pet cat” it became so much easier for me. the goal isn’t to be worshipping yourself but rather being fed, watered and comfortable enough to be able to actually live without all that extra shit getting in the way

something that reshaped the way I draw heads - if person looking up, ears will be lower than the eyes, if person looking down, ears will be placed higher than the eyes (apologies for scribbly example)
