Never forget: NZ Govts for 50 years have bought into an economic management model that relies on keeping a bufferstock of kiwis unemployed & desperate.
Jobs are kept scarce, so that kiwis sell their labour at poverty-wage prices. If unemployment is too low, Govt's henchmen at RBNZ crash the economy.

Not to get all Marxist Feminist on you (she says disingenuously as I am totally doing that): all the unpaid household caring labour we do drags down the wages for the external caring labour we do. If you pay nothing for household labour you can justify paying nearly nothing for outsourced care work
Particularly those who were silent about the “defining a woman” bill. This govt wants to define women only to systemically oppress them - if women are considered people first and women second, it’s harder to legally disadvantage them.
Systemic pay inequity was always the next repeal.

The formula industry is worth billions globally.
The breast milk industry doesn't exist. Instead, there is a community of people who produce breastmilk and then find ways to make it freely available to babies that need it.
From each according to their means, to each according to their needs.
Breast milk is an amazing example.
If a lactating person hears someone else's baby crying, generally, their first thought is "gimme that baby and I'll feed them."
It's never "I bet I could get them to pay heaps for a bottle of breast milk"
