Our previous neighbourhood back in Canada was like this. It was absolutely fantastic. I miss it.

Aww. I miss the Dogwood Festival!

Oh, but looking at the weather, I don't miss those temps. Good luck! Stay hydrated.

I want a new watch, a good watch. I love my tried-and-true Timex Iron Man, but I would like a nicer watch.

Thankfully, the watch I want isn't "expensive"… relatively. But damn I wish they weren't upwards of $450. Like, I don't even know when I'll have that kind of extra cash.

well, it's very specifically anti-science nonsense. not only does space science always end up with random shit that can be used to improve life on earth, NASA is really not that fucking expensive.

do you know how many space agencies you can fund with one week of iran war.

And now I have an ear worm, and I didn't even have to hear it—except I did because I sang it out loud.

For last night's movie, we introduced the kids to Blue Crush.

I got to tell them I have a prop surfboard from the movie—it's one in the back of Eden's shop. I almost had one of Lena's red boards, but someone sniped my bid at the last sec. 🤬

One day, I will have a place again to display it. #Movies

I managed to tell @astrokatie.com something she did not already know, which is that the Integrity crew did not get to go straight to bed but instead had to do a lil obstacle course to see how freshly landed astronauts would escape the capsule, in, like, woods

and she was like WHO APPROVED THIS. WHY

First, it was the United Healthcare CEO. Now, we have the Kimberly-Clark warehouse.

Given the people who shouldn't paying attention aren't or don't care, how long until folks are sharpening the guillotine blades?

Artemis II Return
NASA's Orion spacecraft carrying Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Christina Koch from NASA, along with Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen from the CSA (Canadian Space Agency), splashes down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California, at 5:07 p.m. PDT, (8:07 p.m. EDT) on Friday, April 10, 2026. The Artemis II test flight launched on Wednesday, April 1, from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida to begin its 10-day journey around the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build on our foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars. From the smallest to the largest. Usually, when I am laying in bed, wanting to go to sleep is when my brain starts.

Looking through one of the four windows of the Orion spacecraft, a tiny crescent Earth is illuminated against the blackness of space and grows smaller as the crew journeys closer to the Moon. Part of the window edge is visible; the rest is darkness. [Alt-text slightly revised from ESA/NASA version]

Jeff Bezos has $222 billion.

If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over.

And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

Watched the "In God We Trust, Inc. The Lost Tapes" and it never ceases to amaze me—but it shouldn't by now—maybe it's more of a why the fuck are these songs still relevant??

Yes, we still do eater egg hunts for the kids. I packed them all and jaded me the bag to hide them. All, 90,000 of them. Both kids and J get angry with me when they can't find the last one (a repeat of last year), and I can't remember where I hid them all. 🤷
