Climate change sucks and I’m sorry/furious that my children are experiencing their childhood summers being impacted by it.

Our summers are too short in Saskatchewan to have to try and find the perfect window for lake time in between smoke season and toxic algae season.
"One of the reasons the epidemic of violence against women is so unacknowledged is because cases like these are talked about individually, and often treated as though they are shocking aberrations rather than part of a pervasive pattern that operates at all levels of society."
Lawsuits from men against the doctors who provide abortions to their partners illustrate that men understand abortion bans as legal codifications of their private right to dominate and control women.
It’s always “Ladies, if you are alienated by overwork, drop out of the public sphere and become a tradwife” and never “Ladies, if you are alienated by overwork, form a union.”
By 2030, 1 in 4 women in developed countries will remain childfree.
Up to 45% will be single by choice.
Society will frame this as a crisis.
Governments will panic over birth rates.
This is about choice though…
It's about women walking away from the roles that kept men comfortable and powerful.
“I feel like I’m dying”
“I feel like I’ve been lied to”
The words of an anti-vax chiropractor who become seriously ill with measles and spread it to his kids, who then also became seriously ill. All four kids were hospitalized.
You *were* lied to. And you wanted to believe that lie.
A pride coloured breakfast for a basement full of teenagers 🏳️🌈
Also have I mentioned how much I love this era of waking up and listening to a bunch of 12 and 13 year olds giggling in the basement while we make them breakfast? It’s a good era ❤️
Misogyny is core to the American fascist project and feminism must be core to its opposition.
My neighbour brought me a bouquet of peonies from his garden on Father’s Day and I love this so much.
Happy Father’s Day!
Indeed.
Also, there’s a deeper conversation to be had about internalized misogyny and about what it sometimes takes and demands of a woman to be able to obtain leadership positions in a patriarchal system/world.
I agree that not every woman is a perfect leader, but if I was placing bets on who would show more leadership characteristics (that I value at least) out of a group of random men and random women, I’d place my bet on drawing a better leader from the group of women every time.
I’ll never get over how, in an era when women’s rights and status are being attacked and eroded in law and culture alike, we were incessantly told that it was boys and men whose suffering we needed to attend to.
I’ll go one step further and suggest that given the state of the world today, women should actually be in charge of every country.
Helping my 12 year old get pumped up for her cheer tryouts tonight by playing Dreams by The Cranberries at a ridiculous volume on every single speaker in our house and now realizing that this is how I should actually start every single day in our home.
So many out now! I was out on Tuesday evening and they were just getting going. Such a short (and beautiful) season for them 😊
It’s crocus season 😍
My soon to be 10 year old is going through it.
It’s gorgeous!
Or both!
Whhhhy does almost everyone I love live in Saskatoon? 😂🙇♀️
Being a cheer mom is the most fun! Yes please to lunch!
New core memory unlocked.
La Fortuna, Monteverde, Santa Teresa, and Samara 😁
Wild to go from -28 to +28 in a day. Family vacay in Costa Rica has begun!
It was quite something! Definitely some core memories made yesterday for the girls (and their parents 😊).
Check in on the women in your lives that have a man in their life who gets angry at the sight of Taylor Swift on the tv when they’re watching football.
Anger is an emotion - it’s not normal to be unable to control your emotions at the sight of a successful woman who is admired by so many women.
