welcome To one of my sales cycles, wherein we made a better plasma abatement mousetrap to run into the problem that the burners it attempted to displace did not have the correct power run

I suppose calling it a sales cycle implies that sales were made, so that’s maybe a misnomer

like It remains incredibly Wild just how inexpensive chips are when you consider just how goddamned insane the equipment is

Like yeah sure I’m gonna go squeeze 550 wafers per hour out of my implant so I can save one thousandth of a cent per wafer, but still, I’ll keep doing that shit

18B gets you like maaaaybe two exes and enough tools to keep them as the start limiter, which is basically fuck all

i like that, for us

ssssort of, regardless of what they campaigned on I think you can sum up the actual implementation of democratic party governance as aesthetically corporatist and technocratic, which ultimately is a couple putts away from what Romney really was

i gotta assume that they’d probably do that and try to pull third way centrists to make the pro corporate Liberal party, rather than centrists trying to pull never trumpers in to protect from flanking leftists

i do not understand how you wrote something that encompases something so universal and yet also made it so personal and specific to your friend, this was incredible to read

“things are better than they’ve ever been and they’re still not nearly good enough“ seems like such an easy take

what‘s interesting is that I think you could historically tar most of America with the same “rules exist but not for Me“ throughout time, which makes the dogs everywhere thing so perplexing to me

seems conservative, I give it 20 seconds

it's the same reason you don't see a hard pivot to the left from the still-mostly-in-charge third way wing of the dccc

seriousposting- the gop coalition at this point is basically racists, strongman lovers, muh-taxes guys, evangelicals, and thermostatic equilibrium reactionaries

nuking trump doesn't get them the thermostatic equilibrium people, and in non-tossup places going against trump loses the others

I know the Roger Federer line about the difference between winning and losing is trite but it is always amazing to me to see absolute wagons, the Goliath to their league’s various davids, and realize that a David won more often than goliath

it remains absolutely fucking mind boggling the amount of /new/ semi-specialized industrial and scientific analytical equipment that still requires like windows 7 to have a prayer of running

My wife (accent optional) posted in her workplace slack how pumped she was for the launch and some guy posted about how wasteful and terribly run the Artemis program was and is

And like, yeah, but also shaddap

running an effective meeting requires a ton of work, and unless you work at a place where you have good meetings it is hard to understand what is missing

And with some of these steps it’s a “this is the only way we know how to do this” sort of thing; like, we are building a whole machine around a single tweak to a process step right now because it’s a billion dollar problem

Beyond that, he has some really great properties for implant (again, 10s of sccm in a plasma source), and also in etch which is probably going to be the big guy since if you’re running a capacitive etcher that’s a huge fill to half a Torr sort of range

Nah it’s just more funny to me that the way to check remains “hook up the ol mass spec residual gas analyzer and hose the chamber down”. We go through bottles more often than you‘d Think

Times how many chucks a wafer sees it starts to become significant rapidly

You also have he use for furnaces which adds a lot too

Then you have the state of the art for leak checking which remains “spray a balloon tank at vacuum chamber joints and check the rga”

2 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

From above you have two problems with chuck loss- one, you are typically flowing more during backside fill because it’s a pressure controller, you use leakage rate as an indicator of how shitty your clamp is

Two is that a given wafer sees a whole lot of chucks in a fab and that adds rapidly

this is Literally My Shit as I’m current designing a He panel for wafer cooling.

The typical reason you use helium for semi manufacturing is for thermal transfer. The only thing better than He at thermal transfer at low pressures is hydrogen

except they just fund what didn’t get funded through reconciliation. Nothing changes. can you help me understand why this is a win for Schumer? Is it that the alternative of not funding long term is untenable?
