Born a year after Edwin Hubble discovered that our Milky Way galaxy was just one of countless other galaxies that populate the universe.

Smart, kind, and gentle. Not sure if they make 'em like that anymore.

RIP Jimmy Carter (1924 - 2024).

If you care about the future of the NHS & you see this on Boxing Day, please could you share this?

If we want privatisation to be removed from the NHS, NHS campaigners like me have a *lot* of work to do next year and…I’d just like to see if people care enough about this for our campaigning to work…

Special Economic Zones???
It goes like this: break up a nation, subdivide the land, invite foreign venture capitalists in, and hand over powers of governance to them while reducing elected government oversight.👇🏻

Good palliative care can alleviate the pain of dying – this bill means Labour must fund it | Rachel Clarke Making dying easier is not the solution when NHS, social and palliative care are simply not there for patients

My direct appeal to @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social
& Keir_Starmer in the light of yesterday's vote on AD.

If they sincerely care about dying people, surely now they will publicly & urgently commit to properly funding our threadbare, neglected palliative care?

Exploring the Welsh language: a Bylines Network Podcast episode There’s a fuss kicked up every time an English name for a Welsh landmark is replaced by the Welsh language name. Perhaps some awareness raising will help

Well that was a fascinating short article and podcast on the history of the Welsh language.

My grandad was from Cardiff - and Welsh always felt ancient and magical to me, so I loved this. The podcast starts with a great bit about some ancient Welsh laws that were written down at the time!
