Childcare is critical infrastructure necessary for strong economic development. Workplace absences due to childcare problems cost Indiana employers an estimated $3.05 billion per year.

Last year, instead of prioritizing affordable childcare for working class families, lawmakers changed the law to let the wealthiest of Hoosiers get a taxpayer-funded coupon for religious private school.
Affordable childcare deserves to be treated as a priority, not an afterthought.
The survival of our democracy depends on engaging and empowering voters, and we celebrate this ruling for ensuring that students’ right to vote is protected. ✊

This ruling reinstates the right for college students to use their college IDs at the polls provided that the ID:
- Displays the voter’s photograph
- Display the voter’s name
- Is issued by a public Indiana college or university
- Includes an expiration date no earlier than 11/5/2024
📷 For 20 years, Indiana had allowed college students to use their college IDs at the polls, provided that they met the legal requirements. But in 2025, lawmakers banned this, impacting tens of thousands of students in Indiana. Now, a federal judge has just ruled that this ban is unconstitutional.

The richest of the rich get richer, while the rest of us struggle to afford housing, food, healthcare, and childcare.
These are policy choices, but it doesn’t have to be like this. We have other choices on the ballot.
Make sure you’re vote ready for 2026 at IndianaVoters.com.
📷 It’s Tax Day! Your taxes deserve to be invested into services that benefit the public good and improve our quality of life.
And yet…politicians are choosing to give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans and pouring money into wars.

This week is Black Maternal Health Week, founded by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance.
Here in Indiana, our maternal mortality rate ranks third-highest in the US, with Black women having a 93% higher mortality rate than white women, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
📷 “By doing this […] there will be less options for Hoosiers to get their medications, less options for Hoosiers to get medical care, and it will likely lead to far more people accessing emergency care” - Alan Witchey, President and CEO of the nonprofit Damien Center.
The application and ballot must be *received by* the county or state Election Board by the deadline - postmarks don’t count.
Another option: early in-person voting is going on now and is available to all Hoosiers. Find early voting locations at IndianaVoters.com

That is so true and really appreciate the feedback. I just wanted to respond real quick because I took down the Voter Guide post. We're having some technical difficulties with the site and I want to minimize confusion until its fixed. I'll make another post about it when the site is working again.
That's a great question, and I would like that functionality too. I passed your question along to the volunteers that made the guide, and I'll get back to you about whether the voter guide has this functionality or if it will be implemented in the future.
Glad its helping and thank you for saying that. I'm excited for everything MadVoters does, but I'm especially excited for the Voter's Guide. I'm hoping this will add a lot of clarity around candidates' policies and voting history.
The MADVoters' Voter Guide makes it simple:
- Input your address to see your specific ballot.
- Check the grades to see how candidates score on our core values:
- Compare side-by-side to see who truly represents your interests.

Hoosiers, please take a moment to verify your voter registration status at IndianaVoters.com before Monday’s deadline! We have spoken with several voters whose voting status has been deactivated, despite them regularly voting in previous elections.
“Indiana state leaders have used the state’s AAA credit rating as evidence of their excellent leadership. However, a great credit rating means nothing when Hoosiers are suffering and lagging behind the rest of the nation.” Read the rest of our latest MadVoices post at MADVoters.org/madvoices.

No April Fool’s jokes here - while Indiana claims to be “a state that works,” lawmakers have turned their backs on working class Hoosiers, slashing childcare assistance as they expand religious private school eligibility to the wealthiest of families. www.wishtv.com/news/politic...
