CRWA has been collaborating with Mattapan community members, the City of Boston, and Mass Audubon's Boston Nature Center to reimagine and restore Canterbury Brook, a tributary of the Charles River watershed.

On January 12, the City of Boston announced it received a $400,000 climate resilience grant to develop restoration plans for Mass Audubon's Boston Nature Center wetland and a portion of Canterbury Brook that flows through the Boston Nature Center and an adjacent parcel. ๐

The numbers are in! Thanks to the help of more than 500 volunteers, this invasive removal season, we removed:
๐ฑ 59, 290 lbs of water chestnuts
๐ฑ 4,660 lbs of bittersweet vines
This was our second season hand-pulling water chestnuts from Redwing Bay in Needham, and we've seen incredible results!
