There either needs to be better subject matter matching or some kind of discussion to enforce some degree of accountability for the reviews. All trainee awards are managed embarrassingly by CIHR because of the sheer randomness they seem to assign them to reviewers.

Ugh. Probably. So glad the fate of our trainees is left to that.
I gotta say that CIHR needs to get its shit together when it comes to postdoc grant reviews. One of my postdocs didn’t receive an award this year because one reviewer scored her down as she didn’t explain the randomization and exclusion criteria for her study. It’s a study done in mice. Seriously. 😐
With the rumblings around CIHR wanting to move to one cycle per year not going away, in consultation with a diverse stakeholder group, we have put together a letter for CIHR leadership. Please consider signing this letter and share/RT: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... @cannabrain.bsky.social
What an absolute fucking tool this man is.
Grateful to @globalnews.ca for visiting to discuss our upcoming trial led by @pact-lab.bsky.social postdoc Gavin Petrie with @cannabrain.bsky.social exploring dose-response effects of THC products from Avicanna, setting the stage for upcoming clinical trials using controlled THC dosing
Fucking hell do I miss the 90s.

This is basically my fitness routine as well, so I'm very glad to see that someone finally put this all together in one compelling video edit that is not in any way cringe or bizarre.

13% success rates at #CIHR, is a really 87% fail rate for>4000 scientists. At a time when 🇨🇦 is investing millions to recruit more scientist into a broken funding environment. 🇨🇦, U need a strong science foundation 2 attract success. #CIHR, fix your science foundation, it is eroding in real time
and what are your reps/weight Tom, do share.
and excited to have you join the Canadian community! 🇨🇦

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves…..I was 37 and Sachin 40 when we got elected so I think we still beat them on that front. I won’t out anyone’s age on here but I am pretty sure they’re age average upon election was higher then 38.5
