This line graph illustrates the percentage change in agency staff levels from the previous year for nine major U.S. federal scientific and health organizations between the fiscal years 2016 and 2025. The agencies tracked include the CDC, Department of Energy, EPA, FDA, NASA, NIH, NIST, NOAA, and NSF. For the majority of the timeline between 2016 and 2023, the agencies show relatively stable fluctuations, generally staying within a range of +5% to -5% change per year. However, there is a dramatic and uniform plummet starting in the 2024–25 period. Every agency depicted shows a sharp downward trajectory, with staffing losses ranging from approximately -15% to over -25%. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows the most significant decline, dropping to roughly -26%, while the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shows the least severe but still substantial drop at approximately -15%.
This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

NEW: @potus letter to @jonasgahrstore links @NobelPrize to Greenland, reiterates threats, and is forwarded by the NSC staff to multiple European ambassadors in Washington. I obtained the text from multiple officials: Dear Ambassador: President Trump has asked that the following message, shared with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, be forwarded to your [named head of government/state] “Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT”

The original iPod was released closer to the launch of Voyager 1, the original run of Star Wars, and sales of the Apple 1 than to today.
Oh no, not this guy...
Ugh. iPadOS 26’s new multitasking system really sucks if you’re just a casual user with no keyboard. I hadn’t realized the “Fullscreen apps” mode didn’t have SplitView multitasking.
One of the cool things about getting better at programming is being able to work on something ✨anywhere✨ During a shower, walking around… Even in one’s sleep!
Then you realize you’re working all the time. And it can’t be undone. Whoops.
At the time, I went to an Apple Store instead of ordering it online so I could get the purple one. Sad.
Yes, have the tool change behavior to something entirely different than its normal behavior whenever an AI model believes the image is NSFW or contains private data, with no way to turn it off. What could go wrong.
Why the fuck did Apple add a “Safety Filter” mode to the clean-up tool in Photos that is AI CONTROLLED, can’t be manually disabled, and pixelates instead of removing whenever it believes you’re trying to remove sensitive stuff.
Why aren’t these two separate tools. What the actual fuck.
Wait, the new Apple TV intro was real & not CGI?!

Most airlines’ check-in websites offer the option to pay to select a specific seat.
A major Spanish airline has a website where, every time you select + deselect this upgrade, you get a *different* random seat. So you can basically re-roll until you get a seat you like.

A chart of "Major concerns of PhD candidates." The top text says, "Financial pressures top the list of concerns faced by PhD candidates, but concerns differ among the sexes. Those studying in the United States rank the political landscape as their main worry." The chart shows that in the full survey, political landscape is the biggest concern for about 20% of students (a bit higher for women than men) but there's an annotation saying "In US PhD students, this rose to 64%". Overall, the highest-rated concern was financial pressures at around 40%.
That's quite the chart annotation.

tylenol.com TYLENOL We stand with science, and we stand with you. For generations, families have trusted TYLENOL® when it matters most. Why? Because Tylenol is one of the most studied medications in history. The facts remain unchanged: over a decade of rigorous research, endorsed by leading medical professionals, confirm there is no credible evidence linking acetaminophen to autism. Acetaminophen is used worldwide as a first line of defense for pain relief and fever reduction, at the recommendation of independent public health and leading medical professionals and in accordance with the product label. High fevers and pain are widely recognized as potential risks to a pregnancy if left untreated, especially in the first trimester. Remember to talk to your doctor. We prioritize science as the core of how we provide care, and that will never change.
