Opening text of a thread by Palantir from X Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation. 2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible. 3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public. 4. The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software.
Palantir put out a 22-point summary of their CEO's book The Technological Republic. It's pitched as a defence of the West, but if you read it through the VDA framework, verification, deliberation, accountability, what it's actually doing looks rather different.

The answer was Soundcloud.com
Anyone know an alternative site to youtube to search for tracks? Its really annoying to search for a track and have all kinds of (slop) non related things pop up.
"Winboat" www.winboat.app#so-can-i-run... yet another Linux add-on which claims to run windows apps smoothly. Could be worth a look since it claims to be able to run Adobe apps. (yes you can run office 365 on it). You need a valid Windows key by the way.
This is particularly important for games without Steam Cloud support, as an uninstall equals losing your saves.
(In comparison, this behavior is different from Windows, where such files would remain in Documents / Appdata even after the game is uninstalled.)
Thus, please back up accordingly!
PSA for those who have switched over from Windows to Linux for gaming (via Steam):
As you may know, each game running via Proton is given its own prefix, simulating locations like Documents / Appdata to house saves + configs.
That prefix, and all its files, is deleted ENTIRELY upon game uninstall.
This is cool but looks like we dont get the (imo better) original Neo Geo box design? π

Updated the Links section on my website to include my current favourite internet streaming radio stations. I'm still looking for a good millennial coded alternative music station, it needs a direct url tough so i can open it in WACUP. Let me know if you know any !
