"So, how are you today?"
"Shabby. Perhaps even far too shabby."

That one is beyond even my limits. The characters are unbelievable, the acting is terrible, and the script is so unrealistic.

The wife, @lovelyjoan.bsky.social and I have been watching messed up, terrible, and classic horror movies on Tubi lately. Motel Hell, Blood Diner, and Microwave Massacre so far. What should we watch next?

It has been much easier to get into my daily walks since I made a Plex server that just contains stuff I know I like. Discovering new music is a thrill but you need to make time for the stuff that has made grooves on your heart and mind. Like this stuff:

They'll have to hire outside contractors for this.

Someone said recently that a could build a person could build a machine that could kick perfect field goals every time but no one would pay to watch it play.

I love my Plex server but it does make me sad that the great artists I'm listening to wont know that I'm listening to them.

Inside you are three wolves...

One of my hobbies is hunting for second-hand bargain movies. Found these today.
I really should spend more time watching them.

All the adorable and clever cats and dogs that exist in the world and people insist on making videos with dogs and cats that don't exist.

My weird neurodivergent "uncanny valley" sense picks up on a lot of it but it is getting better at faking sincerity.

Another problem with Generative AI based on a lot of the comments I've been getting and on the recent posts by a prominent "doctor" is that it puts the power to create things that, on the surface, seem like art into the hands of people who don't understand the meaning of what theyre creating.

That seems like a society that might actually have the responsibility to do it. Therebmay be Japanese billionaires but I never hear about them so they're definitely better than ours.

The sad thing we have to deal with now is that the only people with the financial capacity to build mechs are the ones that we absolutely do not want to have them.

Nobody turns to Anime for historic or, for that matter, anatomical accuracy.

Just happened to me.

If you are using Generative AI, you are not "making art," you are "requesting entertainment." The only art involved is the art the software steals from when it is assembling the image/sound/etc you were requesting when you submitted your prompts. No "art" was made during this process.

hello, my name is Ashley. you may known me online as Digital Love. i am a transgender woman living in poverty in Mississippi. on April 8th, news broke that the state passed SB2322, an anti-trans drivers license bill similar to the one recently enacted in Kansas. SB2322 is now on its way to the governor's desk and will assuredly become law.

on paper, this bill is not quite as extreme as the Kansas bill, as it lacks the language of instant invalidation. however, i do not trust the state to operate within the lines of the bill for a variety of reasons.

Mississippi has already attacked trans youth with multiple harmful bills (HB1125, SB2536), as well as banning trans women from women's prisons (HB188), and trans people from bathrooms in public education buildings (SB2753).

SB2322 reaches even wider, further targeting transgender adults by invalidating our primary form of identification: our driver's licenses. anyone presenting an "invalid" ID will be referred to I.C.E. by the arresting officer.

i am a courier. i drive for a living.

under the circumstances, i feel that i must treat this bill as a red line.

i have lived here for 15 years. my partner and i recently celebrated our 10th anniversary. i have friends, family, five dogs, and i am autistic. i do not want to do this. but i fear that waiting will only bring more legislation that could leave me with no chance of escape. i have to leave.

in a slightly better world, i would be able to leave and take my family with me. unfortunately, we don't live in that world.

i have a sister that can take me in, far away in a blue state with protections. but the reality is: unless we receive a miracle i will be forced to go alone, leaving my loved ones behind for an unknown amount of time.

my dream is to raise enough money that we can all relocate together. realistically, i need to raise enough money to get started on my own so my family and i can work towards being reunited.

i hope that you will help me.

the campaign goal is on a sliding scale, it'll increase as people donate. all donations will go to my relocation, anything over my personal necessities will go towards whatever it takes to move my family. down payment on a home, deposits for a rental, whatever it takes.

Nor do I.
Prepare for the worst.
Hope for the best.
And try to be patient enough to allow as many alternatives as are available. My best advice in this and generally most situations.

That's definitely another good point. Not everything needs to play to me for it to be worthwhile. Diverse types of interactions with your followers means you're providing all sorts of context for people to get their teeth into your art.

Sounds like you have your answer, then. But put it off as long as you can regardless.

You have to do what is right for you but November MIGHT change everything or at least get it back to the previous status quo. How tenable it will be between now and then I can't say but if it's gonna get better, it might start then.

Not a huge fan of "how I made this" videos by musicians, but I absolutely love and support you posting them. AI is a plague. Nerding out over some synth you use, or playing some riffs on your guitar, or what have you, really shows "I am real, I am human." Do more than that, but keep em in the mix.

There are many times when I appreciate music more than the usual "a lot." Mowing the yard is one of them.
