The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation said it chose to honor Twin Cities residents “for risking their lives to protect their neighbors and immigrant community members from an unprecedented federal law enforcement operation."

Immigrant physicians have always been a part of keeping America healthy. On the ATS Breathe Easy podcast, science historian Eram Alam, PhD, explains that 25 percent of the physicians in the U.S. has been comprised of immigrants since the Hart-Celler Act of 1965.

What were once almost certain fundable scores have become coin flips and what used to be likely grants have become aspirational, leading to fewer awards.

Another manifestation of how HHS policies have led to fewer awards and less science.

I wish that this was not needed but given the state of things, feel the need to make this statement.

Mac Randolph RIP Alex Pretti, he was my Dads ICU nurse, he read my dad's final salut at the VA after he passed away. Never wanted to share this video but his speech is very on point. Also my Fathers final words to me was continue to fight the good fight. He would be honored in Alex' sacrifice, and ashamed of this current administration. Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.
