Getting an answer to that q was my one goal! It’s not meant as a gotcha.
Helen hadn’t done any live discussions with a skeptic until this point, and her essay got a lot of play. I felt I was very well positioned to ask tough questions she hadn’t otherwise been asked.
I think it’s obvious you and I disagree on some big things (like abortion) but my day job is working both sides of the aisle to increase material support for families.
And you sure can’t get there with a position of naked contempt for women a la Andrews.
If you’re gonna claim, as Helen does, “The rule of law will not survive the legal profession becoming majority female” then you should be actively and urgently curious about what protective factor is keeping veterinary medicine on track!
I mean, I’m on the pod specifically because I think Helen’s argument is wrong and I wanted an in person fight about it.
I’ve worked at for-profit businesses, but at the start up ~80 employees phase. I did run HR at one though.
