Here’s some morning #poetry brew. ☕️✨ I get a lot of inspiration from poetry, so I might keep sharing a poem a week in case others enjoy it as well.

I'd really like to see leadership calling for impeachment and removal, regardless of whether they have the votes to get it done. Same way we called for marriage equality before we had the votes. A leader's job is to lead. If a genocidal threat isn't impeachable, then nothing is.

A WHOLE CIVILIZATION WILL DIE TONIGHT My son needs lunch, and I have to put his backpack together, but a whole civilization will die tonight, so I'm wondering if they've closed their schools. Like, a snow day, maybe, except instead of snow it's "keep your children home so if you die, you die together" — instead of "well open back up once the plows have cleared" it's "we don't know if we'll be here tomorrow, hold your babies tight." It's just "talk" I'm told, which I've been told before. "It's how the president makes his deals." But I've never heard anyone talk about other human beings this way, and I'm not certain I can look my son in the eyes if we all agree to stomach it one more time. I'm the daughter of an Army paratrooper who refused orders during our illegal invasion of Vietnam back in the day. He went to LBJ military jail.

For the record, as I understand it, there is ZERO evidence Iran has the capacity to weaponize enriched uranium.

So even if they stockpile it, they have no way to pack it into a weapon and launch it — and that’s a VERY difficult bit of knowledge to obtain.

It is great news that the city is buying the hotel at Gladstone + O’Connor to use as transitional housing for families — many of whom are currently holed up in awful motel rooms. These suites have full kitchens and the building is close to schools, the Y and transit.
