That makes me think; who of my followers have had okra in its many forms; and where

SE US, yes; but it also … Africa..

SE US cooking, creole, bbq, or otherwise; all came from non-white “immigrants”

Won’t even mention Asian and Mexican influences

If I had actually gotten caught and punished as a kid for the shit I did… yeah. Good thing I was a middle-class white kid who always got the benefit of the doubt.

But I did have a troublesome driving record.

Drive By Truckers is, honestly, probably Southern Rock more than Rockabilly; but I saw their advertising glued to Athens power poles a lot, and they often played the 40-Watt and Ga Theater, so I couldn't ignore them.

.38 Special, tho... I got captured by that when I was 17

Um. Hm.

Maybe I should focus on being a Kat(hah)burgler. Oceans 11 (et al) was BS, buuuuuuuut.....

No shit, round knobs are a pain in the ass but they're harder to turn from the inside if you're on the outside.

...seriously tho, you can get *too* paranoid.

Gotta level up my lockpicking skills. Electronic locks are a whole 'nother skill.

He does tend to reach for topics, but this one is pretty good. FF through the ad that he only has to do because he needs to eat and This Is America.

Security dude side of me says "ooh Lawrence, lever handles are vulnerable points of entry as well as lever locks with a window nearby"

Haven't looked into the articles, but it does sound a little... juicy

And... also really depends on how uptight the local PD is.

We never really enforced fireworks laws, because; c'mon... we all shot fireworks as kids.

the tennis balls in gas, you could shoot balls of fire quite a distance)

Aqua-net hair spray can with the nozzle punched out, 3 or 4 (or however many) soup cans with lids removed duct-taped to the top... nail hole punched in the concave bottom. Pour gas in nail hole and light, andhope ukeep fingers

Yeah; but given the ever changing landscape of federal firearms laws...

(When I was a kid the family who showed us how to make a potato launcher moved here from Idaho (with the camper stuffed full of Coors); but shot tennis balls out of it instead.

We, um... figured out that if you soaked-

And coming to an interview in ragged shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops? If that's all they got, OK; but it still tripped the "Really? Really!?" part of me

*your, not you're... *sigh* Anyway.

I always hated to be the "get off my lawn" Xer when I was a (low paying private security) manager; but... yeah. That sucks. And means you're good employees have to pick up the slack until someone new is hired... which, with this company, could take a month and a half🙄

Keerist

Did he grow up in Ga? Because that's one of the first things we learned about in elementary school. Even in Rome, his district, where I went to school.

-and a major fiber optic line before they decided to pay for the hydrovac when constructing a new building

The gas line cuts were bad enough; but I bet the flash and boom when the backhoe dug up 1 of 2 lines to an industrial site was impressive.

Hydrovac? That's usually a sure sign that "We can't be really sure that the located pipes are the only ones; soooo no backhoes" as far as I've seen... but that was at Janssen where no one could find any schematics and they cut 2 gas lines, a power line (backhoe operator probably soiled his pants)-

I can kinda get that. Although I also sometimes think, if it's a band that normally does other things (like Devin Thompson Project), that they just wanted to noodle a bit in another genre.

(DTP's "Heatwave" prompted this thought)

Then there's Southern Rock, which...

@jeremyhammett.bsky.social ; apropos of nothing other than a stray thought in my ADHD head... how do you feel about rockabilly?

We had one of convex safety mirrors outside the guardshack at Janssen and every spring it was both the bluebirds and the mockingbirds that would peck the crap out of it. Sometimes the shack door if the sun was right.

I still look askance at SC riders with no helmet; because a helmet has saved my life at least twice.

But, yeah… if that’s how you want to die, ok.

Except with the anti-vaxxers; it’s my life you’re trifling with as well
