This exactly. I keep seeing all these takes about “save your ire for Congress.” Man, why?

I don’t need to save. I’m ire-wealthy. I’m the Bezos of ire. I’ve got enough ire to spend on SCOTUS and Congress and the DOJ and governors and univ. presidents and dem turncoats and

Exactly. I contain multitudes…

…of pissed-off pettiness aimed at every government institution not doing the work toward staving off fascism.

If the last decade has taught us anything, it’s that presuming good faith in people you disagree with is at best naïve, and quickly turns into enabling the more adamant you become about doing so.

When *I* die, or when *you* die, or when anyone with a shred of respect and care for humanity dies, sure. But for some of these folks making this argument, I think making life worse for millions of people is the point.

From the context, it seems like the “switching to a different train means a whole new day’s pay” thing was to prevent the employer from cutting down the workforce and making one worker cover two workers’ jobs. It makes it less cost effective to use fewer workers to do the same work.

As someone who transplanted to the coast from near KC, I can say with 100% assurance that what works in Kansas City absolutely doesn’t work on the coasts. It’s debatable if it even works in Kansas City.

No more “Time for the 25th Amendment” takes. The 25th isn’t for stuff like this. It’s time for impeachment.

Again.

Did I watch the video?

No.

Do I know it’s full of shitty takes because of the face in the thumbnail?

Yes.

I really wish people would stop promoting takes from shitty people making shitty arguments just because their overall thesis is somewhere in the vicinity of a stance they kind of agree with.

I have a new article out in @nulawreview.bsky.social on the right-wing “critical race theory bans” in schools, and how their facial ineffectiveness demonstrates that they are merely the latest manufactured attack on public schools.

My wife and I saw the movie this past week at a preview showing. She read the book; I have not. As we left, she noted she was pretty pleased with how they translated the book to the screen. She said they didn’t change too much. I, of course, cannot personally verify.

In my observations, an LLM is *more* likely to do this corner-cutting. If I search up a phrase on Westlaw, I’m able to see that it’s coming from a case or article standing for the opposite. The LLM will most likely just cite it regardless of the broader context it’s in.

Kings of Leon, “Sex on Fire”

The single worst song I think I’ve ever heard.

I don’t think people typically head to Barnes & Noble, or a local bookstore, or Hudson News at the airport to get books for their potential monetary value. There’s specialty shops for that kind of thing, and I doubt those are the places you’re signing books off the shelf.

Wouldn’t it be wild if a former president struck a deal to avoid this very thing and your boss backed out of it because that president was Black

This happened to my wife a bunch for YEARS—she kept getting emails for someone with the same name who lived in a different state but didn’t put a dot between first and last names. She once got an Uber receipt emailed to her. She made sure the driver got a $20 tip.

Building political capital requires *ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISHING THE THINGS YOUR SUPPORTERS WANT.* Dems have reliably fumbled that for a couple decades now, but the other side has routinely enacted the chaotically evil policies it’s run on in that same span. That’s why they have political credibility.

Absolutely. Having an administration that minimizes corruption, incompetence, and willful fucking evil is a goal that’s worthy on its own merits. Building political goodwill would be a great side effect, but at the same time, it’s clear being the “honest guys” won’t do that.

Add revising the FTCA and the postal exemption to the list of necessary actions for Dems to take if they ever regain control of Congress and decide they actually want to govern instead of make fruitless plays for non-existent conservative votes.

The general populace is just a reality TV series to them at this point.

It's also so easy to misunderstand or misinterpret things in email interviews, too. So much of communication is through context clues like gestures, inflection, facial expression, and things like that. I never interviewed people over email unless they *absolutely* insisted.

I'm not entirely sure most of the Dems in Congressional leadership are actually aware of anything that occurs outside of the building. With the obvious exclusion of polls, of course.
