I suppose getting old is all about managing ever-increasing types of psychic damage, but wondering why you’re getting a glossy mag from a university you have no affiliation with, then realizing it’s because you made a donation to a memorial fund for a friend & peer is a new one.
Been pretty happy with the Experience 2 (regular)--don't know if they'd hold up to Sunn, but have sounded good with some pretty loud shows (and the case is small enough to sit on my keychain all the time so I don't have to remember to bring them along)
Ceauşescu’s oversized parliament & bulevardul unirii also seem comparable even if no arches were involved
the fact that they did a live set on wfmu yesterday and an interview (and also recorded a swansea sound set) between nights of shows suggests both wfmu.org/playlists/sh...

soundgarden played at my college in 1992 & I was pissed when I found out whoever booked the show picked them over mudhoney
It used to be something of great concern, though also still not clear how it was supposed to have polymerized (probably need a Science sub to read though) - DL Rousseau, "'Polywater' and Sweat: Similarities between the Infrared Spectra." Science 1971, 161, 170-172.

I got fashion flip-flops & chintzy chanclas & mystifying mules, but fresh out of style slides
I used to get SALT II and Vatican II mixed up (without really knowing anything about either) so maybe there’s a precedent
on a decaying wooden deck, a vulpine ginger pup checks out an old Sunn 2 by 15 bass cabinet getting its speakers replaced in the shade while an older blue heeler/beagle mix lounges in the sun.

RIP Vincent the Cat, late of the lovely Etcetera Coffehouse in Paducah, KY. Cats shorten my breath dangerously, but he was a good one & was always a menacingly comforting presence.
Me & a post-doc generally worked nights and I would listen to whatever was on KALX on my radio. Every time I came back from the NMR room, the radio was tuned to the jazz station (which was pretty good). It’d get switched back when he went down to the NMR room. Still friends ~30 years later.
Bob Waymouth & Mark Green are in there too (and seconding Don Tomalia, Roland Noelte, and Dennis Dougherty, one of my kid’s “favorite old people”)
When I was a youth, there was a caltech chemistry dept softball team that got a bunch of caps from INTERNATIONAL BOAR SEMEN (“The AI Innovators since 1976”) & played under the name HOG HEAVEN. Every time someone yelled “good eye” it was clearly an omen. internationalboarsemen.com
the Harry street one is down the block from the Phil Lynott statue if you find yourself on that type of adventure—noodles & dumplings were tasty and had a nice little covered front outdoor area to get out of the rain
we must have been opposite you on the other side of the balcony—nice to get another perspective (& see what extreme stage right looked like)
A white flyer with bold block print reading, “PALILALIA RECORDS PRESENTS FOUR LOUIES BILL ORCUTT GUITAR QUARTET HOW TO RESCUE THINGS CORSANO & ORCUTT DUO PLUS SETS BY CYRUS PIREH, SHANE PARISH, CHUCK ROTH, AVA MENDOZA, KRIS GRUDA ROULETTE, BROOKLYN MAR 20 & 21”
Finally got to see @billorcutt.bsky.social & Chris Corsano & Ava Mendoza & Cyrus Pireh with a bunch of other folks playing Four Louies. It was beautiful.
excited to be there tonight
if he pulls out one out of every three strings, it’s probably not a very valuable net
only time I saw him was around then at First Ave—he wore some kind of space helmet for most of the show and the stage was littered with joints the audience threw. He seemed happy & it made me happy.

there was a Puig Destroyer tune back in 2013. If I remember right spurred by Cardinals players claiming they played baseball the right way. puigdestroyer.bandcamp.com/track/play-t...
