Ha! Of course you did. When you get home, let's find some time to catch up.

Compared to the median tourist, I suspect you're more adept at, and interested in, figuring out and using a brand new transit system. But then again, you're talking to someone who rode the LA subway mostly as a tourist attraction just to see what it was like, so I'm on your side here!
They do a good job with the routes, and the circulators are awesome for toursits. Now imagine how amazing the transit would be if Larry Hogan hadn't illegally killed the Red Line subway project to expand highways.
Oh, nice! Glad you enjoyed it! That picture makes it look like an antique cannon leveled quite a large city block. Excellent photography work. No notes.
Federal Hill may also be worth a look. The park is kind of a tiered hill with excellent views of the harbor. It's walkable. Good options for family friendly food like pizza by the slice and ice cream. And the science museum is on the northern border.
Canton is nice! O'Donnell Square Park (which is very much an elongated rectangle and not a square by any stretch) is tiny but cute and the library is right there, plus the pie place is legit. Waterfront parks all connected by the harbor walk ๐ Patterson park on the northern border.
Oh, I meant, like, do you want help picking a neighborhood to explore on this trip? I'm not suggesting you move there! If you're moving back up northeast, just come back to Philly!
Happy International #TransDayOfVisibility!
It's a day to celebrate our transgender neighbors, but it's also a day to remember that visibility is not safe for everyone. It's up to the rest of the world to make it a safe place for every transgender person to be seen and celebrated. #tdov
If you want help picking a neighborhood, I used to live there!
Public transit generates a ton of value for society that the transit providers can't capture in revenue. When critical infrastructure for health, daily life, and/or participation in government and democracy isn't accessible, it can create harm and barriers far more costly than bus service.
Why isn't the proposed Interborough Express light rail line called "New Tramsterdam"?
Doesn't need to be the WHOLE video, but I'm still curious.

Is there any way to opt out of my apps updating with Christmas themed icons? Like I'm not allowed to be Jewish on my own phone?
This is really amazing and also means we need to quickly reevaluate a lot of "known" findings.
Especially problematic because I can't even remember which facts in my head come from mturk studies!
Important, valid, and distressing confirmation of discrimination against mothers.
I know #FollowFriday isn't for four more hours, but give Professor Holbein a follow anyway. He's truly excellent at curating and explaining research that's interesting and/or important.
Yes, thank you ๐
Any time. I love crossword puzzles.
Control Line and Specimen Line probably?
Just to clarify for anyone reading this: check the expiration dates online. Some tests got printed with very conservative expiration dates, and then as research showed the tests lasting longer, updated expirations got posted online, extending the usable life beyond what was originally written.
Thank you!!
Found a theme for my New Years Party.
At the risk of looking like a plant in the crowd...which of your books would make the best gift for someone going in knowing nothing but who likes your Star Trek writing?
Might get a little flu shot bullseye tattooed on one arm. This is really neat.

Sarah, it's SO GOOD. Thank you for making it!
Cover of the 2026 "love notes from nature calendar."
Got our 2026 nature calendar from Meg Lemieur and @sarahmackattack.bsky.social, and it is amazing. Beautiful, funny, interesting, and even emotionally moving. When the year is over, we are going to be saving many of these pictures. Highly recommend.
With Microsoft launching a new AI-powered Clippy, I'm going to double down on this joke.
