Meet "Greb" my Daggerheart character.

5 months ago 24 4 0 0

Makes sense! Since the bonuses are so close to each other I haven’t noticed too much of a downside one way or another in my full campaign. There’s also magic items that can be attached to any weapon to change the trait it uses so it’s definitely a viable option!

But he could’ve just as easily kept the +2 in his spellcast trait and used the +1 for Str. Either way it was awesome to be swinging the giant sword and slinging spells

You don’t have to use a staff or wand as a wizard! Theyre recommended on the character guide but it says right in the book that you can either use the suggestion or choose your own!
I ran a oneshot for a War Wizard w plate and greatsword. He made his +2 Str and +1 Knowledge and it was great!

"I used to be an assassin, just like you. These days, my skin is just too thin for that kind of work."

A one page spread for an enviroment for Daggerheart called 'THE WANDERING TAVERN". It features a black and white photobash of a tavern with massive bird like legs to carry it. Surrounding it are various rules.

People say AI is a magic shortcut to creativity & success. I’ll tell you the real secret and it’s voraciously reading, being interested in everything, being diligent in the pursuit of learning, paying attention to the interior lives of others & keeping a heart open to the world.

The moment of “what’s the armor that football players wear??” And the collective Armor??? Followed by the most confused statement of “shoulder pads???” from your audience helper was a highlight of the panel 😂

We're socialized to constantly apologize for being too outwardly excited about things, but this world is so full of terror and misery that I'd rather see those bursts of light and passion shine through the cracks wherever you can find them.

Death tarot card. the grim reaper in black gothic armour rides atop a pale horse bearing a black standard. the social classes cower in fear before him, a priest, a soldier, a king lies fallen at his horses feet. a burning city can be seen in the distance and a river of blood is flowing past. a crimson coat is trailing behind the reaper.

You Will Die In This Place is an autobiographical RPG told through multiple, fictional perspectives You will be drawn to this game.

"There’s a lot of me in this project. Even if I’m often hiding behind the voices of Charlotte and Samantha."

@liz-shrikestudio.bsky.social tells Rascal about the process of creating her pseudo-autobiographical horror RPG about finding meaning before death, but also accepting the unknowable.

The legendary Italian writer Umberto Eco had over 50,000 books in his private library.

When asked why so many, he had this to say:

It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones.

It just requires a little reframing to think about books differently. What if we thought about them as medicine? Then, suddenly:

we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the ‘medicine closet’ and choose a book. Not a random one, but the right book for that moment. That’s why you should always have a nutrition choice!

This is the best advice for how to be better at ANYTHING in TTRPGs. Be a fan of the other people and their roles. Love the other PCs. Admire the DM and get excited for their work. Geek out over the stuff your friends at the table are doing and want them to be happy!

Everything else will work out.
