Sorry if it comes across as gloating, but if you'd told 16 year-old me I'd end up like I have I would never have believed you. You know what enabled it? Social democracy. It gave me opportunities no-one in my family had ever had before. It's a similar story for millions of others. It works.

I'm in Hong Kong before a big week of work. You can never tire of it - so much going on, everywhere you look. The bustle, the noise, the humidity and heat, the bright colour, the smell of thick fleshed fruit just on the turn. It's addictive. Shenzhen tomorrow. Not so full of life. But the future.

The less people use coins and notes, the less emotional and more technical the argument about the Euro becomes.

Only one of the Labour strategy or the Green strategy will decarbonise electricity by, say, the mid 2030s.

And it's not the Green approach.
