Edwin Díaz reported elbow discomfort yesterday, Dave Roberts said — first time he had done so and first time Díaz said he felt any symptoms. That prompted the MRI.

Roberts declined to name a set closer in Díaz’s absence.

In good injury news for the Dodgers, Mookie Betts started a swing progression over the weekend, Dave Roberts said. Still going to be a bit before he’s active, but an important step as he rehabs his oblique injury.

Brandon Gomes had an (expected) one-word answer to the suggestion that Roki Sasaki could shift back to the bullpen with Edwin Díaz's injury:

"No."

Manager Rob Thomson said they are waiting to see how Zack Wheeler does today before moving forward. “We'll have something to announce tomorrow.”

Both are top-150 overall players for me moving forward this season. Like Jansen's power potential, but, yeah, I'd go with Dingler. Will be in the top 75 in my Top 500 rankings update today. Think he's a league winner.

Dillon Dingler now has 2 barrels today after a 2-run HR with a 107.5 MPH exit velocity.
He previously hit a 103.5 MPH 2B.

Dingler entered play ranking in the 88th percentile or better in hard-hit rate, xBA, xwOBA, xSLG and barrel rate. Also a 17.5 K%.
