Thanks for posting this essay. I remain a fan of Struzen, and I hope this isn’t misinterpreted as a “take down” of Struzen. It was my reaction to a documentary film released at the time that gave little context to Struzen’s place in illustration history and his influences.

Thank you so much! It was a pleasure to talk to you! I did a little more um-ing and uh-ing than I would have liked, but otherwise I’m happy about how it turned out! You asked some great questions! And thanks again for the opportunity.
I’ll be reading my book The Black Market at The Avid Reader on the 26th!
I’ve got too many friends who I know aren’t going anywhere, but that’s kind of self perpetuating. Also: I wrote a kid’s novel! Just came out last month.
My new book, The Black Market from Union Square Kids! Available simultaneously in paperback, hardcover, digital and audiobook!
You disappeared on Instagram and I wondered where you went! I’m glad to find you here.
Thanks Deborah!
Regina got me this licorice cake for my birthday! Licorice flavored with licorice buttercream and licorice and fennel decorations! (If you don’t like licorice you don’t need to tell me) It was delicious! I’m not sure why it’s not more of a thing!
It’s made of that really thick plastic, so not the traditional wheelbarrow I’m sure you’re picturing.
I had a roommate who kept putting my cat out because “cats belong outside.” Until I lost the cat. It was eventually found and adopted by our neighbor. I just gave up and let her have it. And it became an indoor cat. It was better off.
We own a green wheelbarrow.
Thanks! But if you could also mention that this is from my book, Olive.
From my flood book WIP.
Another image from my new book Olive. Currently working on a fourth book in the color series, Ginger, and wrapping up work on my middle grade novel, The Black Market.
I dig it! Hey! Hi! You lettered my comic for SpongeBob Comics a few years back and did a great job! It was kind of a complicated mess and you made it super clear and readable! Thank you!
Good choice! For me it was probably some Beatles song.
I follow stuff that I want to see more of. I don’t expect that all of those accounts will follow me back, but if I don’t follow them I won’t see what they post. Mostly it’s artists whose work I like, and I’m ok if they don’t see my posts, as long as I get to see their’s.
I was just joking about the whole cranberry marmalade thing. Sounds gross, but to each their own!
You’ve really crossed the line now. You’ve been pushing it, buddy, but this is too far. I don’t need you getting on here and cramming your marmalade with cranberry sauce agenda DOWN OUR THROATS. YOU CAN GO STRAIGHT TO HELL SCALZI!
Thank you!
From my book, Olive.
Hello. Just figuring this thing out. Here’s an image from my recent book.
