A variety of pastries are cut in pieces and arranged on a plate.
Sampler from Forma bakery bc @alexschafran.bsky.social said to, and I am highly susceptible to pastry influence. A good add to the rotation.
Duh
Looks pretty good so far!
The sales tax you know better than I do whether this tax is creating cost burden for the full time locals or if it’s more as intended. I’m unconvinced by the argument against that those funds would be replaced by private philanthropy / gifts. If it’s mostly working as intended, I think yes also.
The bond seems most controversial - on the one hand, the housing is necessary and in your market, the cost is going to be very high so this isn’t a crazy $ amt. other hand, don’t like that the resort is the land seller & developer of the 1st phase, just feels bad. Still, I say yes.

Did you get it yet? Hanging out in my sister’s room this afternoon and just admiring our handiwork in here.
So insane.
I wish the best friends fest exact schedules were announced so I can confirm if I’ll still be able to go to bed at a reasonable hour if I attend.
Why is milquetoast Ezra Klein turning into a silver fox snack? Shouldn’t be allowed.
I never heard of them until my mid 30s, why was our generation denied this important opportunity?!
Post pics when it’s up!
On every night of my adult life including Saturdays I like to be in bed by a reasonable hour EXCEPT when I see my community development friends at a housing conference and all the sudden I’m trying to direct everyone to the tiki bar for an after-after-party and staying up all night.
I’ve heard that too, but the peel and stick was not really that fussy? The pattern kind of makes it easy to match up the seams, and iirc from when we installed my sister’s room, the seams overlap by like 1/8 inch so there’s less likelihood of gaps.
USGS says yes
Grain of salt, but Kroger responded to the Nation’s report and issued a statement saying they are not doing this. Hard to find a non-paywall link but I think this is open:

🧐
Walgreens and Lucky (Kroeger) have been two that have recently made it into the rotation more since I’ve dropped Target - for those sorts of non-bulk miscellaneous things I’d usually buy there. It’s been workable.
I came to a kind of fancy laundromat (takes cards, air conditioned) today hoping maybe they’d have a massage chair. They don’t, so add laundromats to the list, too.
Be right there
The paper was pretty heavy stock. We ended up ordering from huggleberry hill instead of spoonflower but it seemed pretty similar quality based on the samples.
I keep forgetting to go check the texture on the walls in my room but only to say we did not try to smooth the walls (but if you do, go the putty/fill route and don’t try to sand it down), we just hung the paper.
Stopped for gas in El Cerrito, a middle-aged woman pulled into the pump next to me and (1) asked if she has to put her card in first and (2) observed that this 4-station 8-pump gas station is “the largest she’s ever seen.” I’m endeared.
Sounds perfect!
Okay the only thing I will say about the repeating pattern style (which is what I have) is that you want to put it only on a wall that has a lot of STUFF on it / in front of it because the graphic effect is really not nice without some visual interruption.
Post pics.
I did peel and stick and it was reasonably easy to hang it. I don’t know the exact life expectancy but my expectation is that now that it’s up it’ll stay up until we intentionally decide to make a change so at least a few years. Did not prep the walls.
A photo of a small potted lemon tree on a brick patio. The pot is blue with an ornamental print. The lemon tree has more than a dozen nearly-ripe lemons visible in the photo.
Speaking of lemons, our Meyer lemon is either the happiest it’s ever been, or dying and desperately trying to reproduce before the end.
Trying to make lemonade out of lemons: a vole ate through almost our entire front garden bed last summer, so now replanting with all the stinky beauties: bee balm, lavender, many sages, oregano, mints, rosemary, catmint, borage, thyme, and some sorrel. Leaving room for future alliums. 🤞
